Outside Looking In
The bitter chill
of evening air
Can fill a heart
with fear
When all alone so
far from home
With no one loving
near
While standing outside
in the night
Worn out, chilled
to the bone
A sight is seen right
up ahead
While feeling all
alone
A glimpse of light,
a sense of warmth
A sign of love and
hope
Awareness of a guiding
force
The feeling you can
cope
The loving warmth
and guiding light
Intensifies the chill
You long for that
serenity
While standing outside
still
While on the outside
looking in
You long for just
some more
But as you start
to walk away
The heart opens the
door
