A Little Taste of Summer
The way the clouds look white and
thick
Like sitting on a sheet of glass
They never seem to move, and yet
They endlessly roll on and on
The fields of grass are rich and
deep
Greener than they should ever
be
They wave in lightly whispered
breeze
Here and not, there and gone
The endless skies all up above
A blue so blue but almost white
They days are long as days can
be
But not as long as one could want
The evening sky is cool and black
The stars like lights in velvet
wrap
The breeze is gentle, kind and
still
A coolness that will tease and
taunt
Through fiercely heated days exchange
With coolness of a gentle rain
From day to night, for my delight
My summer memories remain
