Thunderstorm
A little rain falls
from the skies
The birds and creatures
disappear
They seek the shelter
of their homes
They know the time
is very near
The rain falls thick
and faster still
The sky turns threatening
and dark
Behind the rain
the stillness lies
In telling what
is to embark
You feel a rumble
in your feet
Before you hear
it with your ear
It starts out soft
but builds in force
A warning of what
will be near
A blinding flashing
fills the sky
For just a second
all is light
Then after just
a moment's wait
The sky explodes
with all its might
The raindrops fall
harder and fierce
The flashes fly
across the sky
The booming echoes
in the air
The war of nature
battles high
But soon enough
things start to slow
They lose all their
intensity
The rumbles are
further apart
The rain slows its
severity
Finally the rain
has stopped
The clouds depart
to show the sun
The birds and animals
peek out
The thunderstorm
at last is done
