The Lighthouse

While sailing home from distant lands
Across the stormy sea
The rain and wind so fierce and wild
Were almost blinding me

For days I'd sailed the ocean deep
My fortune to be found
But my heart lies back at my hearth
So homeward I was bound

I thought myself to be a little
Lost and off my way
The raging storms had blocked the sun
It was so dark that day

When suddenly a bit of light
Pierced through the blowing rain
I looked and thought it all a dream
But there it was again

I headed toward the slender beam
And pulled up to the shore
So grateful that the lighthouse
Had brought me home once more
