The tail of the Monkey Jims…

AKA… Why can’t you do it? Why can’t you set your monkey free?

Long ago in a land far, far away there were several monkeys sitting on a small plastic pine tree in a Cracker Barrel General Store. These monkeys were lonely and forlorn, dressed in Halloween costumes that the evil Cracker Barrel employees forced them to wear. August 5, 2003 four extremely kind people (Aaron, Melissa, Dawn, and Vance) discovered these poor little monkeys. Adoption was inevitable as they were all strong advocates for monkey rights. How could they let these poor monkeys hang there, exposed to the world?

Aaron promptly snatched two of the ghost monkeys and ran up to the register to ‘adopt’ them. Of course it was a black market adoption, and he paid heavily to get them freed. But all monkeys deserve to roam freely; he decided it was imperative to pay the price. He gave his newfound friends to Melissa and Dawn, as they have a bit of a monkey fetish. Mel and Dawn took the monkeys to breakfast. They shared their chocolate cobbler amidst glares and dirty looks from the other patrons. Down in them thar’ parts o’ Virginia, monkeys weren’t allowed to eat with folks. They had their own separate restaurants and restrooms. Mel and Dawn just didn’t care! Monkeys deserve equal rights!

The first two monkeys were given the names Jim and Jimmy. They enjoyed many travels. They went to the beach, out to eat, and even on a haunted tour of Williamsburg, VA. Soon though, the monkeys grew lonely, they desired the company of other monkeys. Mel, Dawn, and Aaron felt badly for their monkey friends. They started feeling guilty for not freeing more of the monkeys. Back to Cracker Barrel they went. They adopted as many monkeys as they could. After the adoption of so many monkeys, the three people felt overwhelmed. How would they manage to take care of so many monkeys? They made a heartbreaking decision to break the monkeys up and give them to their friends. All the monkeys have been given to loving homes. They now have the opportunity to travel the country and see new exciting places.

Follow along in the exciting adventures of the Monkey Jim family!!!!!
