John Douvillier first began instruction in defensive tactics in the mid fifties under his grand father Charlie Ross Green. In September of 1958, he began the study of wrestling and judo at Townsend Elementary School; he continued this training through 1966 at Kerr Jr. High School. Afterward, he trained under a Japanese gentleman known only as Mr. Tanimoto in Del City, OK. In 1968, John enrolled in the Oklahoma Academy of Judo and Karate under Sensei George Brock, DR Miles and Bob Willingham. In 1973, John met, and thus later, became the personal student and representative (Yat-Sup-Dai-Gee / Ho Pang Yow Wor Doi Bil Yun) to Professor Joseph I. Cowles, Jo-Si (Founder) of the Wu-Wei, Mo-Wai, Mu-Shin Fighting Arts. The following is a partial list of rank promotions and appointments received:

·         03 October 2001 -      Promoted to Shodan (1^st) Degree Black Belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.

·         01 May 1997 -      Appointed the Sokedai, Kudan (9^th) Degree Black Belt, of the Bei Koku Aibujutsu Ryu.

·         04 August 1984 -      Promoted to Shihan Menkyo Kaiden (Past Master) in the Bei Koku Aibujutsu Ryu.

·         05 February 1984 -      Promoted to Yondan (4^th) Degree Black Belt in the Bei Koku Aibujutsu Ryu.

·         27 July 1983 -      Promoted to Sandan (3^rd) Degree Black Belt in the Bei Koku Aibujutsu Ryu.

·         01 July 1981 -      Inducted into the Society of Soke / Shodai International as Chung-Si of Wu-Wei Gung Fu.

·         19 October 1980 -      Appointed as Chung-Si (Lineal Successor) of Wu-Wei Gung Fu by Professor Joseph I. Cowles.

·         01 August 1980 -      Promoted to (5^th) Black Sash in Wu Wei Gung Fu by Professor Joseph I. Cowles.

·         15 January 1980 -      Promoted to Nidan (2^nd) Degree Black Belt in the Bei Koku Aibujutsu Ryu.

·         01 January 1977 -      Certified as Lifetime Member of the Society of Black Belts of America / International.

·         01 June 1976 -      Promoted to (3^rd) Black Sash in the Wing Chun Gung Fu System.

·         01 March 1976 -      Promoted to Shodan (1^st) Degree Black Belt in the JJBBFA Oikiru Ryu Ju Jitsu system.

·         01 July 1975 -      Promoted to Shodan (1^st) Degree Black Belt in the Bei Koku Aibujutsu Ryu.

·        27 June 1973 -      Promoted to Shodan (1^st) Degree Black Belt in Texas Beikoku Bushikan Jujitsu Association.
