Mission Statement:
St. Elizabeth Of Hungary in Pflugerville, Texas...in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church, God's kingdom on earth , seeks closeness with God who spiritually nourishes us with the sacraments found in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Through the intercession and example of charity and service of our patroness, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary we commit :
to study and teach the Gospel of Christ and our Catholic faith
to continually improve our diverse ministries to better serve the needs, both spiritual and physical of our parish and extended community, and
to provide activities that enhance family
History
Feast Day is November 17th.
September 11, 1932
A mission is established in Pflugerville and placed under the protection of St. Elizabeth of Hungary. The first church building at Wilbarger & Railroad Street near downtown is dedicated. Through Our Lady of Guadalupe parish in Austin and from Our Lady of Guadalupe in Taylor, the Oblate fathers of Mary Immaculate provided Mass and Sacraments at the mission.
October 21, 1979
Dedication of the new church building on North Pflugerville Loop with 8 acres of land.
September 1982
Fiftieth anniversary of the Mission is celebrated.
June 11, 1984
St. Elizabeth is established as an independent parish.
First resident pastor: Fr. Pete McCabe.
July 5, 1984
Parish rectory is established on 8th Street in Pflugerville.
August 18, 1985
Dedication of Parish Activity Center (the 'hall').
June 17, 1987
Second resident pastor: Fr. Tom Frank begins his assignment.
November 17, 1989
On this day two statues of St. Elizabeth of Hungary were unveiled, blessed and installed. One is wood, hand carved, hand painted commissioned from Rome. The
other is a plaster statue donated by St. Elizabeth in Houston, Texas.
Fall 1991
New, permanent rock sign marks the parish land.
April 1992
Purchase of 3 acres between the church and the middle school.
November 15, 1992
Celebration of the 60th anniversary of St. Elizabeth CC in Pflugerville.
May 19, 1996
Ground breaking for new Sanctuary and Education building.
Summer 1997
Associate Pastor: Fr. Kevin Rai is assigned.
September 9, 1997
Dedication of new Sanctuary and Education building by Bishop John McCarthy.
July 1, 2002
Third resident pastor assigned: Fr. George Joseph
