First off let me apologize for not updating sooner, but
here's the scope. I created some MP3's for SPE and
loaded them up to MP3.com
and also loaded some up here. With the free space that is provided by
Tripod.Com, i get 11mb of space. well, i went over that and then i couldn't
connect with Frontpage (what i am currently using to do the site with). so
after 3 days of thinking they are having server problems, i email them and a
week later they reply telling me that i went over my alloted space. well, fuck
me. why did it take my upload then if it was over the amount. so any way i have
to ftp in to delete some shit to get under my space and basically i had to
delete all the mp3's i loaded up here, plus some of the real audio files i had
up here - needless to say i'm not pleased. but anyway

SPE is on MP3.com. currently
loaded up there is a full version of I'll Bet and half of OverBoard. both from
the new Demo.

CNN aired a special on Leonard Peltier on Oct 10th. if it
airs again and anyone knows about it. let me know i'll try letting everyone know
in advance.

SPE will be
playing the Rockhouse at the Garage in L.A. on Friday, Sept. 03 with Babyland
and 400 Blows.
i'm not sure if it's the Rockhouse or the
Garage or the Rockhouse in the Garage, so here's how it came to
me.

Got my hands on the SPE demo (thanks Dan and Kohl), and
will be adding songs to the site for the masses. IMO - it smokes. Currently,
this demo is NOT available to the public, but if/when it is, you will hear it
here first.

SPE drummer Davey Latter is doing a "mini" tour
with Fastball Ministry through New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, etc. - be on the look
out for him/them in your area.

kohl reported back in to say that the SPE show has been changed to Fri, July 30th @ the Garage in
L.A. Also, reports are coming in that the new SPE
demo is done.

again, this is just rumor. it has not been confirmed by
SPE (but i believe the info came through thier
manager). Some of the song titles keep with info i have gotten in the
past, so hopefully we should see the dome soon. Anyway, i hope to lay my hands
on a copy so i can put some tunes up here.

kohl reports that SPE is to be doing a
show in LA on Wed., July 21st (this show has been
changed, see above) a new club within Club Lingerie with Man Will
Surrender. Davey should be back from touring with SAMIAM soon, so hopefully this
can be confirmed.
May 30, 1999..........

SPE just
recorded a demo and are currently writing more songs. No word so far on a
release date for any new material. Some of the new song titles
are:
Terrific
Turn
Taking A Dive
There
was also some rumors floating around about them working on some cover tunes (the
cure's "letter to elise" and perhaps a tune by the smiths), but the
SPE decided to focus on writing for
the new album instead.

- according to my sources: Davey has been playing
w/ SAMIAM but he is still in SPE.
SPE
is still together and aren't planning on breaking up until they don't want to
play anymore.

Apparently during the the
big Seagram's takeover, SPE was deemed expendable. I guess artist with
integrity
and a social conscious aren't welcome in the corporate machine
where the bottom line
is $$$$$$$$.
But don't fret SPE fans,
according to Mike
"we are definitely
making another record, hopefully soon." As our man Balz reports - the band
is currently looking at other labels AND writing and rehearsing new material so
when it does sign with a new label, it will be ready to go into the
studio.
