starvingartist t-shirts
Hey look, it's my first online t-shirt store.

Yeah, it's white fruit-of-the-loom tees (although they do baby-ts and mousepads now) and it's like $15 American... but still, it's a start. A starving artist has to make money somewhere. Oh, the shirt designs are in pixel art format (my specialty, btw).

The Big Picture
There was one thing that always bothered me about high school math. (No, not *calculus* you smart*beep*.) It was a sense of not knowing, or more importantly, not being told of the big picture.

In biology, we more or less learned about different lifeforms, then we drilled down and learn of their different parts, and then we drilled down to learn what those parts were made out of... and so on. There all these pieces of information that worked together to give you a better understanding of the whole.

But not with math.

(Heck, I didn`t even know we were suppose to remember stuff from the year before.)

So let me show you a secret. Here`s the big picture.

How Much Is Inside?
A site that finally tackles the age-old question that everyone wants to know... how much is inside?

Neptunes
It`s kinda weird, but almost any music produced by Pharrell Williams recently (who`s worked with *Nsync, Jay-Z, No Doubt, Garbage, Babyface, Busta Rhymes, Moby, Kid Rock, Britney Spears, P. Diddy, blah, blah, blah...) stays stuck in my head.

...like that Beautiful song done with Snoop Dog...

He (along with his Neptunes partner Chad Hugo) just manages to make any music he touches very catchy and adds another dimension to what would have been just another one dimensional song. They all have amazing hooks and rhythms. The result is something that sounds so new and fresh. And that`s why he`s the being asked to produce so much stuff for the music industry right now.

Reading week is almost over... but I had a lot of fun. We just had our church's annual winter retreat and I've been working on a couple of projects for school.

Well, the Toronto Star redesigned the paper, as well as the online site. The newspaper's (the hardcopy kind) masthead logo looks bolder and cleaner. I'm not too sure about the fonts and the layout though.

The paper mimics the extensive use of pastels by the National Post. It's also has headers that are the same style as The Globe and Mail... it's colored, positioned on the top left and serif styled. Except the kerning has been very loose, making the headings get lost in the whole page, unlike the Globe's.

Oh well, maybe I'll get use to it. The website, while being a big improvement, is still looks bad and doesn't follow web standards in letter or spirit (There's no doctype, they're using proprietary body margin attributes when they could have done it simply in CSS, their CMS has horrible non-friendly urls, blah, blah, blah).

Yeah, I worry about things like this, John.

Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong today.
And the day's not done yet... *sigh*
