View from the front coach

Image85.jpg (39159 bytes) YG 4252 was a star performer, here it is between Morbi and Dahinsara pumping furiously. Easily one of the most magical train rides I have ever had.
Image84.jpg (41589 bytes) One of my favourite pictures from Bharat's WKR webpage is the water rake going through a green patch. I try to duplicate the scenario. This is a level crossing gate hidden in the shrubs and the loco is also screeching its whistle at this moment.
Image87.jpg (56786 bytes) A carelessly driven truck crashed into a level crossing gate last night. This has rendered the interlock between the gate and the signal inoperative. Thus the 412 Down performs a  'stop dead and proceed' procedure guided by the flag wielding pointman, only just visible in the distance. The road between Morbi and Dahinsara runs next to the railway line.
Image86.jpg (35104 bytes) The rake climbing an moderate incline towards Maliya Miyana. The speed is very slow and the air is very still, the steam almost flows near the ground.
Image88.jpg (36009 bytes) Few seconds later, the thick steam still flows on the ground.
Image89.jpg (44847 bytes) View from the other door. The bleak landscape typical of the area.
