New Range Rules Beginning 2002:

The Board of Directors approved new rules at the scheduled board meeting on Tuesday, May 15.  The object of the new rules to make the range safer for everyone, and to limit use of the range to members of our Chapter and their authorized guests.

The rule changes have not been completely finalized at this time but here they are in draft format:

(1)  A NRA certified range officer must be present at all times when the range is open.

(2Only certified range officers will be able to use the range on weekdays.

(3)  Chapter members who do not wish to become NRA certified range officers will be limited to shooting on weekends during scheduled range hours.

The Chapter will offer range officer certification classes at yet to be determined times.  Each participant will be required to purchase NRA training materials.  In exchange for the privilege of opening the range during the week each range officer will have to perform scheduled range officer duties on weekends.  The schedule will be determined when the exact number of range officers is known.  Range officers will be required to keep their certification current with the NRA.  At this time there is a $5.00 annual fee to renew certification.
