"Even Cats Have Their Day"

MINE~! MINE I SAY! ATASHI-NO! Shoo shoo! *glompmolests picture*

Mmmmnnnnn, Kyo. *purrs* Definately my absolute favorite of the boys in Fruits Basket. Honestly, his anime form is much much sexier than his manga form. *swoons* He needs a hug sometimes, and a kiss, and a [CENSORED] and a few [CENSORED CENSORED] and don't forget some [CENSORED CENSORED CENSORED CENSORED] o-hohohohohohohohoho ^0^

Shi-chan commanded me to draw Kyo fanart. For once I wholeheartedly agreed to doing so ^~ I took my posebook and tried to find something cat-like. Once I started sketching it out, I had no idea what to do with his hands. Then I thought it would be cute to have Kyo-sama play cat's cradle. I turned to screenshots and my DVD covers and inserts for the shape of his hair, and what kind of clothing he likes to wear. His favorite blue jacket was an afterthought. But he looks good in it; cool turquiose blue is a great contrast to his reddish brown eyes and firey orange hair (and firey personality).

My scanner yet again ruined the hours I spent trying to color this man. (I managed to watch the the last 4 innings of the Giants game while finishing up the finishing touches and inking, and watched Full Metal Jacket in the course of color-matching and coloring this picture.) I studied all of the Furuba DVDs I have and a few really good screen captures just to get his hair color right. Like in many anime, the characters' hair on Furuba change tint almost every other episode. In Kyo-sama's case, his hair can be anywhere from a dirty orange color to a mango yellow-orange color. I also did a bit of studying on his kickin' rad[/SA Forum reference] pants. Not only for this picture, but for a future cosplay my friend is going to do.
