 Available Assignments

Post Codes: The following 2-5 letter codes are the codes for 
 certain posts which a character may be assigned to. All are 
 considered to be senior officers.

CO     Commanding Officer (Captain)
XO     Executive Officer (First Officer)
OPS    Operations Officer
CEO    Chief Engineer
CSO    Chief Security Officer
CSciO  Chief Science Officer
CMO    Chief Medical Officer
CNS    Counselor
CFO    Chief Flight Officer (Helmsman or Navigator)
CWC    Combat Wing Commander (Carriers only)

 Other positions may be available, but with the exception of 
 civilians, these are only granted upon invitation. Among these 
 are the post of Academy Instructor and all posts which are higher
 in the chain of command than a starship captain.  The second
 officer, named by the CO, is usually the next ranking character
 after the XO.
