ESF Command Information File Description of Key StarFleet Locations The Office of Fleet Admiral Kaktoviik, CinC-ESF Located on StarBase Lone Star, in the Polaris system. The entry is guarded by an administrative assitant, whose name, species, and gender have never been established. The enty itself is comprised of a pair of massive duranium and oak automatic doors. Beyond the desk is a large mahogany table with several rolling swivel chairs, which the Admiral often uses for high-level conferences or for her snacktimes. The room itself is about thirty meters long and twenty meters wide, is soundproofed, and has an opaqueable wall with a view of the base's promenade deck. The view is quite nice, since the office is located at the end of the balcony level of the Promenade. There is also a replicator, various office furnishings, and a large holocommunicator pad in the office. Among the decorations are two potted organ pipe cacti, positioned on either side of the doorway. The Office of Rear Admiral Kirsch, CinC-SFA Located on the ground level of the main administration building, on the campus of StarFleet Academy in San Francisco, Terra. The room has a window which is usually left closed, as well as a number of impressionist paintings. Classical music can almost always be heard, mostly German composers. It has been described as "suprisingly small", but has a nice view of San Francisco Bay. There is a path to the window, a relic from a past CinC, which Kirsch sometimes uses for secret escape. The office, though small, contains a replicator, desk, swivel chair, several seats for guests, and massive duranium doors. SFA Examination Building A massive structue on the campus of StarFleet Academy, used primarily for the infamous Cadet Exams, the final exam that senior cadets face before graduation. The building houses thirty-two HoloDecks and their support facilities. Each of the holodecks opens off of one of the four octagonal chambers on the second through fifth floors (a quartet of turboshafts occupy the center of these rooms). The first floor contains the offices and quarters of the thirty-two instructors, though often these positions are vacant or filled by Academy faculty. Outside each of the HoloDecks is a metal bench, capable of seating four, and a observation and programming chamber, meant for the instructor's use. The HoloDecks are numbered by floor; the second floor HD's are numbered 1 through 8, the third floor 9 through 16, and so on.
