ESF Command File The Rules The following rules are the so-called "ironclad" rules of ESF. Violation of any of these may result in serious action against either the character or the player involved in the infraction. 1. No player may cause the death, permanent injury, or permanent or serious alteration of any primary or secondary character under the control of another player. This rule will be enforced by action by CinC-JAG, CinC-ESF, the fleet CinC, or the Command Council. A primary character is defined as a character created by a player and assigned by Command as a senior officer. A secondary character is defined as a character created by a player as a subordinate after their assignment to a RP unit, or any other non-primary character that enjoys the protected status granted by this rule. Such must be registered with the unit's CO, or they will be considered as an NPC (non player character), with no protected status. Any other character is considered to be an NPC (non player character). These may be created, altered, and destroyed at will. 2. No player may create any characters beyond their first until one month (by StarDate) after their graduation from the StarFleet Academy training program. Once this requirement has been reached, players may create as many characters as they wish, limited only by their own desire and the following rule. At the permission of StarFleet Command, players with experience in other games similar to ESF may be allowed to enter without passing through the SFA training. For the purposes of this rule, their first primary character is to be considered to be their second, thus averting the restrictions of this rule. 3. No player may maintain more than one primary character in a single location. The exception to this is so-called "villains" and members of StarFleet Command (those assigned to positions higher than starship command). There shall exist a Command Council, made up of one officer to represent each RP unit, and all players who possess a character of rank Captain or higher but do not command an RP unit. This council shall meet continuously, and will arbitrate any major violations of these rules. Minor violations will be dealt with by the unit commander, the fleet CinC, CinC-JAG, and/or CinC-ESF.
