Notes:
 The design for the PROMETHEUS-class is, quite simply, a modification of the
 venerable GALAXY-class spaceframe, adding more firepower and shields, thus
 making it into a heavy cruiser. The upgrade was approved in June 2396, and
 the USS PROMETHEUS was built to these specifications, and launched on SD
 980201. StarFleet has decided to outfit one half of all new GALAXY-class
 spaceframes to the PROMETHEUS-class specifications, as of SD 980601.

 Unlike the GALAXY-class and the PELICAN-class variant, the PROMETHEUS-class
 is not equipped for saucer separation. While it can be done in an emergency,
 the PROMETHEUS-class is incapable of reassembly without the facilities of
 a drydock.

 PROMETHEUS-class starships are to be named for mythological or legendary
 figures, and will be given registry numbers in the 92000 series.
