Notes:
 The INTREPID-class, StarFleet's first steps toward large-scale 
 modernization in smaller vessels, was pioneered in the late 2360s.
 The INTREPID-class fast frigate is capable of planetfall. Only a few 
 exist, as the original construction project was cancelled after the
 mysterious loss of USS VOYAGER in 2371, and further modifications were
 made when they were brought back into production, several years later,
 as the COOK and CONNERY classes, and later the McPHERSON and ANTIGUA
 classes. The original INTREPID class vessels, of which eight remain,
 were all refit in 2387 to incorporate D-Warp technology.

 The INTREPID-class starships were named for types of explorers, and 
 given registry numbers in the 75655 series.
