Notes:
 The ORCA-class, which marked the renewal of StarFleet's interest in new
 classes of fast frigates after the shelving of the INTREPID project in 
 2371, was also the first StarFleet fast frigate to be equipped with
 the new quantum torpedos. The vaguely sharklike design was the inspiration
 for its name (they were originally to be called the QUASAR-class), and
 its curvature takes advantage of the curves of a warp field, allowing it
 to establish a smaller, tighter field, thus getting more speed with less
 power expenditures. Capable of planetfall, and newer than the
 INTREPID-class spaceframe, the ORCA-class spaceframe is expected to join
 it as the backbone of StarFleet's frigate forces.

 The MINOTAUR-class version of the ORCA-class spaceframe has been given
 more warp power (to counterbalance an increase in displacement), more
 impulse power (to yield greater speed, maneuverability, and acceleration
 at low speeds), and been fitted with two Pulse Phaser Cannon turrets,
 giving it quite a bit more firepower than the original ORCA-class.

 The MINOTAUR-class starships are to be named for mythical creatures, and
 will be given registry numbers in the 85000 series.
