The Eleventh Angel
"Each Soul on this planet evolves to a liberated state of consciousness, a being of light, a citizen of implicate order. In the past we have conceived of these "citizens" as Angels. The founding of Qabalah was the study of Angels (in it's original form). IMPlicates are angelic beings who have awakened to their universal nature, becoming Free from the "halo" (ala 'Minority Report') placed on them upon arriving in this sphere........ .... .. . It is TIME, the discipline of radiance begins... the clock is ticking........ " three years left. . . . . .
" I AM a Self-Creating, Liberated Spirit,
I AM the disciple of the Universe,
I AM the willing Release of my Self to the Infinite Life,
Mem aloah va Daath,
Eheieh asher Eheieh" from the QBL by Jad Alexander
Water
A Triangle
The Trident
and a Cup ..................Are all symbols of MU Mem.
The Tarot card for MU is the Hanged Man. Spirit inverted into Flesh.
Investigate the nature of MU in Zen Buddhism.
Astrologically, MU is the element of Water, as it is ruled by Neptune, the planet of Mysticism.
MU is the elemental that is PURE CONSCIOUSNESS as a specific category of energy. To attempt to understand the nature of MU Mem it is best to start with it's esoteric manifestations. Mem is the alchemical element of Water --- the conduit of Life itself.
Water is symbolic of the pure nature of consciousness, consciousness as an energy unmanifested in expression. Of course, all consciousness as we know it is expressed through animals and plants. Mem indicates the raw material of such expressions. In the same way that gasoline acts as fuel for engines, Mem acts as fuel for the "machinery" of the psyche. Mem is the fuel for the macrocosmic and microcosmic universes (Omniverse a.k.a. Implicate Order). It fuels all expressions. This is the basis for the traditional descriptions of Mem. "Mem is the source of that which is consistent in all numerations."
In direct Qabalistic terms, Mem is Gamma/Gimel (light) inverted into form (Hanged Man). Consciousness is light on an organic level. The expression of Mem does not appear as a specific state, it is the SOURCE of all states. Mem is a path of Intervention, like Kappa Kaph. There are many reactions to the interventions of Mem, but they are just that: reactions. It is only the ego which mourns and despairs over MU Mem. For as the universe moves in it's continual flow of change, the temporal images dissolve and vanish from the sight of the ego.
To attempt to try to narrow Mems expression into a state of consciousness would be like trying to choose one solid object to represent all matter everywhere. The closest we can come to describing Mem as an Elemental state would be through the perception labeled "psychic" by western society. What is known as "clairvoyance" or "clear seeing" is primarily a perception of energy relationships that occurs within the objective purity of the Mem state. It is hard to see Mem, for it is that which is seeing. It is absurd to look for psychic powers, when they originate from that which is looking. It would be like trying to find the telescope by looking through it. For further research into this area, it is recommended that you become generally familiar with the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle in physics. This helps illuminate the issues surrounding how that which is being observed is changed by the observer.
Kappa Kaph is positive and generative in nature. MU Mem does not generate energies but receives them. From our human point of view, we might even say it TAKES them. Mem as the basic psychic flow in all life teaches us an important lesson in regards to what we term SACRIFICE. The natural flow of Mem determines the nature of all energy exchanges everywhere. For each energy we desire to manifest, we must also offer something in exchange.
There must always be an equal exchange in every interaction in order to maintain spiritual balance. Sacrifice is something we give as an offering for that which we need or want. Some simple examples are: in order to receive knowledge you must first put time and effort into study; to receive money we must work in society; to evolve we must offer our lives as the supreme sacrifice~~~ in return we are given a richer life and the gift of conscious immortality (implicate). The Ego is sacrificed in exchange for the Higher Self.
To move about on the playing field of life without an awareness of Mem is to be ignorant of the intrinsic necessity of equal exchanges, keeping the balance. It is to WANT AND TAKE AND NEED without balancing the flow, thus perpetuating imbalance.
Mem ALWAYS maintains the balance, with or without our permission. It simple EXTRACTS that which is due. This intervention of Mem has been perceived by us as sorrow, hardship, evil, punishment, etc. It is only hardship if there has been an ignorance of Mem. To be conscious of Mem is to always offer equal energy for the things you need and expect. Respect and reverence for Mem brings about the quality of Spirit in your life.
On the Macrocosmic scale, we exchange our physical bodies in return for the evolution of consciousness and spiritual attainment. (there is enough implied thought in that statement to last a lifetime).

Meanings
The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle
"The more precisely the POSITION is determined, the less precisely the MOMENTUM is known"
What it Says
Changes caused by the act of measurement make it impossible to know everything about a particle with infinite precision. For example, seeing a book-if you read a page you are seeing light reflected off the page. The book doesn't move because of the reflected light. However, if you want to see an electron, you must use light of very short wavelength to see it. A photon of short wavelength has high energy. If it has high energy it will interact with electron and change its energy. So, if you see it you change it. The uncertainty principle is mathematically expressed as:
xp h 2
h = 6.62 x 10 & p = mv (remember the definition of momentum.)
The Uncertainty Relation leads us to a fundamental question: Does the electron really have definite position and momentum, only we can't measure them, or are the electron momentum and position really unknowable (random)? Most physicists take the position that the true nature of electrons' position and momentum is inherently unknowable with infinite precision.
In other words: “that which you are looking for is that through which you are looking.” Michael Talbot, Holographic Universe
Mu
Mu - taken from a japanese tea ceremony scroll this caligraphy figure is the chinese character Mu. Mu is a Zen koan. Mu is the nothingness that is the universe. Mu is the lack of self that is shered by all things. Mu unasks questions. In the hinge of the heyiya-if there is Mu.
Koan MU and the true text
In meditation, thoughts cease, sensory perceptions fade, the observer disappears, awareness of being dissolves, time ends.... all dies.......and when they all come back you know who you are….... being without....a true I of God...... the true text that writes nothing on paper.
Because true text is rarely written on paper, true text is written on your body. It is written as your blood, your bones, your flesh and marrow. True text transforms your mind and heart. It centers. It grounds. It liberates. It becomes you, without. True text of words that are naked, stripped of their narratives, abandoned by meanings, with no associations left to claim as theirs, words that are down and out so much that nobody even notices them, words that cease to exist, words that are just their letters - l-e-t-t-e-r-s, words that have escaped being what they were not, yet seemed to be it anyway. True text writes your mind and your true mind is the true text, an image of emptiness, a true I of God. An old master says that painted rice cakes do satisfy real hunger. Painted words are the true text. Painted words are the mountains and rivers, true text is the cities and the countries of our lives. It lies beyond. Beyond with/in you. A sub-text of the written. A sub-text of thoughts and feelings. Invisible small print under-writing the written of the visible. One can't find it in the ungraspable present moment nor hear it in the last word of Zen….. neither inside nor outside, with no place to hide, true text of life flows, and it flows as breath, as your thoughts, as your mind, as your self, as me and you, ....being without...this....

XII. THE HANGED MAN
This card, attributed to the letter Mem, represents the element of Water. It would perhaps be better to say that it represents the spiritual function of water in the economy of initiation; it is a baptism which is also a death. In the Aeon of Osiris, this card represented the supreme formula of adeptship; for the figure of the drowned or hanged man has its own special meaning. The legs are crossed so that the right leg forms a right angle with the left leg, and the arms are stretched out at an angle of 60° so as to form an equilateral triangle; this gives the symbol of the Triangle surmounted by the Cross, which represents the descent of the light into the darkness in order to re deem it. For this reason there are green disks-green, the colour of Venus, signifies Grace-at the terminations of the limbs and of the head. The air above the surface of the water is also green, infiltrated by rays of the white light of Kether. The whole figure is suspended from the Ankh, another way of figuring the formula of the Rose and Cross, while around the left foot is the Serpent, creator and destroyer, who operates all change. (This will be seen in the card which next follows.)
It is notable that there is an apparent increase of darkness and solidity in proportion as the redeeming element manifests itself; but the colour of green is the colour of Venus, of the hope that lies in love. That depends upon the formulation of the Rose and Cross, of the annihilation of the self in the Beloved, the condition of progress. In this inferior darkness of death, the serpent of new life begins to stir.
In the former Aeon, that of Osiris, the element of Air, which is the nature of that Aeon, is not unsympathetic either to Water or to Fire; compromise was a mark of that period. But now, under a Fiery lord of the Aeon, the watery element, so far as water is below the Abyss, is definitely hostile, unless the opposition is the right opposi tion implied in marriage. But in this card the only question is of the "redemption" of the submerged element, and therefore everything is reversed. This idea of sacrifice is, in the final analysis, a wrong idea.
"I give unimaginable joys on earth: certainty, not faith, while in life, upon death; peace unutterable, rest, ecstasy; nor do I demand aught in sacrifice."
p.97
"Every man and every woman is a star."
The whole idea of sacrifice is a misconception of nature, and these texts of the Book of the Law are the answer to it.
But water is the element of Illusion; one may regard this symbol n evil legacy from the old Aeon; to use an anatomical analogy, it spiritual vermiform appendix.
It was the water, and the Dwellers of the Water that slew Osiris; it is the crocodiles that threaten Hoor-Pa-Kraat.
This card is beautiful in a strange, immemorial, moribund manner. It is the card of the Dying God; its importance in the present pack is merely that of the Cenotaph. It says: "If ever things get bad like that again, in the new Dark Ages which appear to threaten, this is the way to put things right." But if things have to be put right, it shows that they are very wrong. It should be the chiefest aim of the wise to rid mankind of the insolence of self-sacrifice, of the calamity of chastity; faith must be slain by certainty, and chastity by ecstasy.
In the Book of the Law it is written: "Pity not the fallen! I never knew them. I am not for them. I console not: I hate the consoled and the consoler."
Redemption is a bad word; it implies a debt. For every star possesses boundless wealth; the only proper way to deal with the ignorant is to bring them to the knowledge of their starry heritage. To do this, it is necessary to behave as must be done in order to get on good terms with animals and children: to treat them with absolute respect; even; in a certain sense, with worship.
* * *
Note on the Precession of the Aeons. "The Hanged Man" is an invention of the Adepts of the I.N.R.I.-J.A.O. formula; in the Aeon previous to the Osirian, that of Isis (Water), he is "The Drowned Man". The two uprights of the gallows shewn in the Mediaeval packs were, in the parthenogenetic system of explaining and ruling Nature, the bottom of the Sea and the keel of the Ark. In this Aeon all birth was considered an emanation, without male intervention, of the Mother or Star-Goddess, Nuit; all death a return to Her. This explains the original attribution of the Atu to Water, and the sound M the return to Eternal Silence, as in the word AUM. This card is therefore specially sacred to the Mystic) and the attitude of the figure is a ritual posture in the Practice called "The Sleep of Shiloam".
* * *
The Alchemical import of this card is so alien to all dogmatic implications that it has seemed better to deal quite separately with it. Its technical qualities are independent of all doctrines soever; here is a matter of strictly scientific bearings. The student will be prudent to read in connexion with these remarks Chapter XII of Magick.
The Atu represents the sacrifice of "a male child of perfect innocence and high intelligence"-these words were chosen with the utmost care. The meaning of his attitude has already been described, and of the fact that he is hanged from an Ankh, an equivalent of the Rosy Cross; in some early cards the gallows is a Pylon, or the branch of a Tree, by shape suggesting the letter Daleth (~) Venus, Love.
His background is an unbounded grill of small squares; these are the Elemental Tablets which exhibit the names and sigilla of all the energies of Nature. Through his Work a Child is begotten, as shewn by the Serpent stirring in the Darkness of the Abyss below him.
Yet the card in itself is essentially a glyph of Water; Mem is one of the three great Mother Letters, and its value is 40, the might of Tetragrammaton fully developed by Malkuth, the symbol of the Universe under the Demiourgos. Moreover, Water is peculiarly the Mother Letter, for both Shin and Aleph (the other two) represent masculine ideas; and, in Nature, Homo Sapiens is a marine mammal, and our intra-uterine existence is passed in the Amniotic Fluid. The legend of Noah, the Ark and the Flood, is no more than a hieratic presentation of the facts of life. It is then to Water that the Adepts have always looked for the continuation (in some sense or other) and to the prolongation and perhaps renovation of life.
The legend of the Gospels, dealing with the Greater Mysteries of the Lance and the Cup (those of the god Iacchus lao) as superior to the Lesser Mysteries (those of the God Ion=Noah, and the N gods in general) in which the Sword slays the god that his head may be offered on a Plate, or Disk, says: And a soldier with a spear pierced his side; and thereforth there came out blood and water. This Wine, collected by the Beloved Disciple and the Virgin-Mother, waiting beneath the Cross or Tree for that purpose, in a Cup or Chalice; this is the Holy Grail or Sangreal (Sangraal) of Monsalvat, the Mountain of Salvation. [Grail (gréal) actually means a dish: O.F. graal, greal, grasal, probably corrupted from late Latin gradale, itself a corrupt form of crater, a bowl.] This Sacrament is exalted in the Zenith in Cancer; see Atu VII.
It is most necessary for the Student to go round and round this Wheel of symbolism until the figures melt imperceptibly the one into the other in an intoxicating dance of ecstasy; not until he has attained that is he able to partake of the Sacrament, and accomplish for him- self-and for all men!-the Great Work.
But let him also remember the practical secret cloistered in all these wind-swept corridors of music, the actual preparation of the Stone of the Wise, the Medicine of Metals, and the Elixir of Life!
Passing Thoughts
Mu Mem is the balance to Kappa Kaph. The balance of the Wheel of Fortune is directly opposite the Hanged Man on the Tree of life. The wheel represents activity while the Hanged Man represents rest. The Hanged Man is what happens when the Wheel stops turning. To see the Hanged Man is to think of the human spirit suspended by a single thread, a willful suspension and a refinement of observation.
This is where the Mu and The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle play into action. It is Mu Mem when we understand thinking can make “it” change and that all matter and thought are subject to change by observation.
Water is the first principle of Alchemy but this is not water as we know it. It is the non wet substance known as Astral fluid. It is symbolized by water because it has some of the properties but this is the water that underlie everything. It is the fluid of Consciousness.
From the Hunt
Carl Jung in the Collective Unconscious describes the consciousness that relates to waters of Mem.
… a boundless expanse full of unprecedented uncertainty, with apparently no inside and no outside, no above and no below, no here and no there, no mine and no thine, no good and no bad,. It is the world of water where all life floats in suspension; where the realm of the sympathetic system , the soul of everything living begins; where individually this and that; where I experience the other in myself and the other-than-myself experiences me…the collective unconscious is anything but an incapsulated personal system; it is sheer objectivity, a wide as the world and open to all the world. There I am the object of every subject, in complete reversal of my ordinary consciousness [author's italics] where I am always aware of the subject that has an object”
Ocean of Theosophy
The "cell" is an illusion. It is merely a word. It has no existence as a material thing, for any cell is composed of other cells. What, then, is a cell? It is the ideal form within which the actual physical atoms , made up of the "lives" , arrange themselves. As it is admitted that the physical molecules are forever rushing away from the body, they must be leaving the cells each moment. Hence there is no physical cell, but the privative limits of one, the ideal walls and general shape. The molecules assume position within the ideal shape according to the laws of nature, and leave it again almost at once to give place to other atoms. And as it is thus with the body, so is it with the earth and with the solar system. Thus also is it, though in slower measure, with all material objects. They are all in constant motion and change. This is modern and also ancient wisdom. This is the physical explanation of clairvoyance, clairaudience, telepathy, and mind-reading. It helps to show us what a deluding and unsatisfactory thing our body is.
The gift of the runes was given to humanity by the Teutonic/Germanic god Odin. In an act of shamanistic self-suffering, Odin hung from the world-tree Ygdrassil for nine days until the secrets of the runes were revealed to him. Encoded within them were all the patterns of the universe.
I know I hung on that windswept tree,
Swung there for nine long nights,
Wounded by my own blade,
Bloodied for Odin,
Myself an offering to myself:
Bound to the tree,
That no man knows
Whither the roots of it run.
None gave me bread,
None gave me drink,
Down to the deepest depths I peered
Until I spied the Runes.
With a roaring cry I seized them up,
Then dizzy and fainting, I fell.
Well-being I won
And wisdom too.
I grew and took joy in my growth:
From a word to a word
I was led to a word,
From a deed to another deed.
-- The Poetic Edda (circa 1200 A.D.)
In Greece, the Goddess Artemis was annually hanged in effigy and at her sacred grove in the Arcadian Hills was known as the “ Hanged One”
