This page was set up by supportjack, a new attempt to increase awareness about and gain support for Dr. Kevorkian. supportjack is a not-for-profit service dedicated to the accurate representation of the facts, issues and individuals involved in this situation.

As followers of the news may be aware, Dr. Kevorkian has been convicted of murder in the second degree and delivery of a controlled substance. He has been sent to prison for 10 to 25 years for second-degree murder and 3 to 7 years for delivery of a controlled substance. Appellate lawyer Mayer Morganroth is confident of his client's chances to take the case to the Supreme Court. Kevorkian has announced that if his appeals fail he will starve himself in prison. The author wants the conviction overturned. It is important that those who truly believe in the ideas advocated by Kevorkian, now do all they can to show their support of him; and they need to state loudly that assisting in an individual's self-determination (in this case their right to commit suicide) can never be a crime in any society daring to call itself civilized.

The author of these pages believes firmly that Jack is doing the right thing. The author, in creating these pages, is not acting on behalf of or representing any mainstream right-to-die organization. The author speaks here solely as a private individual. The author is motivated by the principle of individual autonomy for everyone: people should have freedom to do anything that does not stop others from having their personal freedoms and rights. Therefore the decision to commit suicide is a matter for personal choice, and rulers or other parties do not have the right to prevent individuals from exercising free will and making that choice. supportjack policy will not, owing to the author's heavy workload, respond to anti-choice emails. Such persons would do better to go to the Detroit Free Press Kevorkian Forum, or to visit sites run by the IAETF (International Anti-Euthanasia Taskforce).

This site is defiantly, openly and unashamedly pro-euthanasia and pro-choice. The views expressed here will be in support of choice, freedom, Kevorkian, and right-to-die.
