(A) See Family Group Sheet 10044 for the first marriage of Philip Barger, to Eve CLEMENTS. It is believed that most of the children of Philip Barger and Eve Clements moved to Illinois, Indiana and Missouri.
(B) The father and uncle of Philip Barger, Philip & Gasper (or Casper) Barger, respectively, were born in Germany and came first to Philadelphia via Rotterdam and settled in the Shenandoah Valley prior to 1740. Both were killed in the Indian massacre at Draper's Meadow following Bradock's defeat on 30 Jul 1755.
