(B) Ralph H. Barger served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II in England, France and Germany. He was the Mayor of the City of Wheaton, DuPage Co., Illinois from 1971 through 1983, and was a member of the Illinois General Assembley from 1983 through 1991. He owned Grafic Foto in Wheaton, Illinois and Foster Graphics in West Chicago, Illinois, and after retirement, he taught graphic arts at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and became a real estate broker. He is a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion. He was named "Man of the Year" by the Kawanis Club of Wheaton.
(C) Beverly Eaton Barger has been continually active in community affairs, serving as a scout leader, 4-H leader, and as board member and president of several state and local organizations. She served two terms as president of the Wheaton Women's Republican Club, and two terms as president of the DuPage Federation of Republican Women. She was named "Woman of the Year" by the DuPage Federation of Republican Women.
(D) Ralph and Beverly Barger are long-time members of the Gary Memorial United Methodist Church of Wheaton. They are grandparents of Jonathan Patrick Barger, Jeffrey Scott Barger, Katherine Emily Barger-Neeld and James Thomas Schmitt.
(E) This family is descended from George Henry Berger of Rowan County, NC.
