(A) Peter Barger, who was born in Germany, is also shown in
some records as Peter Berger. He may have been a brother of
Andrew Barger of Cadiz, Harrison Co., OH, who resided in Mannheim
Township, York Co., PA at the same time Peter Berger/Barger lived
there. This should be verified.
(B) Peter Barger died intestate in 1762 in York Co., PA, leaving
a widow, Elizabeth. Their children moved from PA to Bedford Co.,
VA, then to Greenbrier County, VA and later moved again to
Breckinridge Co., KY.
(C) Peter Barger's daughter, Elizabeth, who married Lewis Shelman,
lived in Union Star, Breckinridge Co., KY. Their children were:
1. Mary M. Shelman, m. Leonard Cart(D) Peter Berger is the progenator of the family known as the Peter Berger/Barger family of PA and KY.
2. Martin Shelman, b. 1777, d. 1867, m. Elizabeth Shelman, (a cousin, daughter of John Barger and Barbara Swisher)
3. Elizabeth Shelman, m. Adam Barger (a cousin, son of John Barger and Barbara Swisher)
4. Malisa Susannah Shelman, m. George Barger (a cousin, son of John Barger and Barbara Swisher)
