PC SWEEP MEETS ORVILLE

“I wish I could fly right up to the sky but I can’t because I’m a dog!” So sang Sweep when he met up recently with Keith Harris and Orville.
Orville arrived in Scarborough by car, as he still hasn’t mastered flight. Orville also appears not to be toilet trained, as he arrived in Scarborough still wearing his trademark nappy! This gave Sweep an idea as he recalls his friend saying he was fed up cleaning up after his budgies. After his meeting with Orville, Sweep went home and put all the budgies in nappies! Unfortunately, the nappies, not being designed for budgies, proved to be a little too big and the budgies nearly suffocated and had to be rushed to the vets. Thankfully, after a week in resuscitation, the budgies pulled through. The moral of the story: ‘Only birds named Orville should wear nappies!’

SWEEP GOES IN SEARCH OF THE HAGGIS

PC Sweep traveled to Bonny Scotland in search of Hoot Hootman the Haggis. Hoot Hootman known to his friends as Hoot, has been hunted since Nessy was a tadpole but has to date avoided capture. It was in desperation that the Scots called on Sweep, (England’s answer to William Wallace), to hunt down and capture the evasive Haggis.
Upon his arrival in Scotland Sweep dropped in on the local law enforcement, who sadly were no help at all, as they were unable to understand Sweeps English accent!

Sweep tracked Hoot to the shores of Loch Lomond and is in the picture opposite deep undercover but can you spot him?
Sadly, Sweep failed in his quest and returned to England empty pawed. Hoot still roams the Scottish hills and it is said that early in the morn you can still hear the hoot, of Hoot Hootman the Haggis.

SWEEP TO BUNGEE FOR CHILDREN IN NEED

To raise money for this years Children in Need Appeal, PC Sweep is to make a bungee jump from a fire engine turntable ladder! Sweep who raised £130 for last years appeal by doing a sponsored silence, said that he had thought of doing another sponsored silence but he found keeping quiet too difficult, so he thought he would do something easier this year!
Sweep who has been practicing by jumping from the top bunk with an elastic band around his ankles, said that he hoped all the boys and girls would sponsor him, so that this year he would raise even more money to help the little people. Sweeps bungee jump is planned for Thursday 16th November at a local Primary School.
Sweep would like to thank the Fire Service in advance for allowing him to use their fire engine, and said that if any fires break out during his jump he will drive off and sort them out!

THE DAY OF THE JUMP

Sweep prepares to jump!     Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's Super Sweep!

SWEEP MEETS HIS FAMILY...NOT!!!

PC Sweep was asked to investigate a group of gray animals with big ears, that had been seen in a field near to Scarborough. Thinking that his family had traveled to Scarborough to visit him, Sweep became excited and speed to the scene in his Police car. Upon his arrival Sweep was shocked to see that the word ‘LARGE’ had been missing from the initial call to ‘gray animals with big ears,’ for before him were three elephants!
The elephants were part of the circus that had come to town and sadly for Sweep were no relation to him whatsoever. The elephants however seeing that Sweep was a little disappointed invited him for tea and cakes and the four of them sat and discussed what a dumbo he was!

FIREMAN SWEEP

'The Sweep News' reported on Sweep helping the fire service. Sweep
crawled through burning buildings, rescued small children and put out fires across the county. Or he would have done had there been any fires, which there wasn’t, so he didn’t. Still it’s the thought that counts!

Sweep tried to wear a firefighters hat but it was too big, so he sat in it!
