Vaulting to Victory

Zirconia is in the Dark Moon Circus tent, and he's not happy. He yells at the Amazoness Quartet to come out. Their voices come from somewhere above, telling him not to get so mad; they're just playing hide and seek. He shouts, and PallaPalla falls onto the floor. She starts crying and tells Zirconia not to surprise her like that. Then VesVes comes up behind her and slams a net down on her head. PallaPalla starts wailing. CereCere comes out, now that the game's over. Zirconia asks where JunJun is. The Quartet say that she went outside to play because she doesn't want any more boring lectures.
VesVes asks if Zirconia's found the next Golden Mirror target yet. Zirconia throws a picture down at them. PallaPalla grabs it first, but facefaults when she sees it. VesVes says "You want us to go after this kid?!?" CereCere says that the target "doesn't suit their tastes." PallaPalla just makes faces. They decide to give the target to JunJun and go off to finish their game. The picture falls on the ground. It's Rini's friend Kelly.
At Rini's school, the students are setting up for a sports match the next day. JunJun's voice says it looks like fun, and she wonders if they're setting up a circus. Kelly is up on top of a ledge, helping hang up a banner. He sees Rini leaving, and asks why she's going home so early. Rini ignores him. She meets Serena, Mina, Lita, and Darien on her way out of school. Lita says she's excited about the sports meet tomorrow. Mina says she always likes to cheer for the cute guys. Lita and Serena agree. Then they hear someone yelling "Hey! Don't do that, it's too dangerous!"
Kelly jumps off the ledge, holding onto a rope. He swings down, does a flip in midair, and lands right in front of Rini. At the bottom of the screen it says "Very dangerous, do not try!" He stands there in triumph for a second. Then a teacher comes over and yells at him to go to the principal's office. Rini says "That was stupid." Kelly says he had to get her attention somehow because she wouldn't tell him why she was leaving. Lita asks Rini if she doesn't like sports meets. Rini says she likes them, but there's a vaulting horse and she doesn't like that.
Kelly starts to look nervous when Rini mentions the vaulting horse. He asks her if there's really a vaulting horse on the obstacle course. She says yes, but that wouldn't bother such a great athlete like him, would it? Kelly laughs nervously and says of course not, he's a great athlete! He can do any sport without even practicing! (Yeah, right...)
That reminds Darien of when he used to do school sports. Rini's eyes go all sparkly and she asks Darien to pleeeeeeese teach her how to vault. Serena starts pulling Rini's face and says he can't, they have to go shopping! Lita says they probably shouldn't go shopping because they don't have much money. Rini's eyes go starry and sparkly again. Serena looks rather like she's been run over by a steamroller.
At the school, Kelly sets up a vaulting horse. He remembers why he's afraid of the vaulting horse--when he was little, he tried to jump. The teacher told him to stop, but he kept running and crashed headfirst into the vault. JunJun is watching him from a nearby roof, wondering what he's doing. She's wearing blue jeans, a red shirt, and a black vest with ripped sleeves. Kelly tries to vault, but stops and starts pounding the vault, yelling "Why? Why can't I vault?!" He hears JunJun laughing and looks up. "What? Is someone there?" he asks.
It's time for JunJun to make her big entrance. She jumps off the roof and lands on a string of flags. She runs along the string, jumps off, hits the ground, does a backflip, and lands on a jungle gym facing Kelly. "Wow, that was great!" he says. JunJun offers to teach him how to vault, and Kelly is thrilled that she'll help.
Kelly tries to vault a few more times, but it doesn't work too well. He hits the vault three or four times. He runs at it again, but slows down and crashes headfirst into the vault again. JunJun says he's doing it all wrong, and he has to stop being afraid. But by then it's too late to practice, and JunJun says that she has to go. Kelly says they have to keep practicing, because he has to be able to vault perfectly by tomorrow. JunJun seems to feel kind of sorry for him, so she agrees to meet him there tomorrow morning to practice some more. She says she has an idea that will let him vault easily.
Meanwhile, Rini is also learning how to vault. Lita and Mina are encouraging her, and Darien's standing behind the "vault" to catch her. Serena asks why she had to be the vaulting horse. She still looks squished. Rini starts to run toward the "vault." Everything is going fine until Mina tells her to imagine she's "running into her boyfriend's arms!" That, of course, makes Serena mad. She stands up and starts yelling at Mina, and Rini crashes into her.
Later, Rini is practicing vaulting over a pillow in her bedroom when Pegasus appears in his globe. He asks what she's doing and Rini says she's practicing vaulting. There are band-aids all over her face. She tells Pegasus that he's so lucky to fly anywhere he wants, and she can't even jump over a vaulting horse. Pegasus looks sad and says that he can fly, but not anywhere. He tells Rini that she has far more freedom than he does. Serena walks by and tells Rini to get to bed. Serena has a black eye and more band-aids than Rini. Rini says goodnight to Pegasus and goes to bed.
The next morning, Kelly is waiting for JunJun. She walks up to him, pulls a crumpled picture out of her pocket. She stares at him and narrows her eyes. Kelly starts looking nervous. JunJun smiles, points at him and says, "So you're the one!" Kelly falls over backwards. JunJun says that this will be very interesting.
JunJun starts telling Kelly that he has to stop being afraid of the vaulting horse. Kelly says he's not. JunJun says she knows he is, but it doesn't matter. All he has to do is be confronted by a greater fear. A cage springs up around Kelly and the vault. That's when he starts getting really nervous. JunJun waves a dark blue cloth in front of her, and a huge bear appears! She says "Run away or he'll eat you!" Kelly runs and screams about the bear. He jumps over the vaulting horse...
...and suddenly realizes that he's done it! The bear and the cage disappear, and JunJun explains that it was just an illusion. She says that since she helped him, now it's her turn. She pulls out her cue ball and pool stick and hits Kelly. His dream mirror appears...but it's just an ordinary one.
The scene goes right into the transformation scene for all the Sailor Scouts. JunJun summons her lemure Jumper. It's sort of a flying squirrel weasel thing. Its second head looks like a weasel, anyway. It flies around and eats Kelly's mirror. JunJun leaves and tells it to get rid of the Sailor Scouts. Mars tries to hit it with her Mars Flame Sniper, but Jumper flies past her and the fire goes backwards, hitting Mars. Jupiter tries an attack, but Jumper knocks her down before she can even start.
Jumper starts to fly right at them. Rini knows how important it is to get Kelly's dream mirror back, so she runs straight toward Jumper...and vaults right over its head, smashing it into the ground. She calls Pegasus, Sailor Moon does her "Moon Gorgeous Meditation," and Kelly gets his dreams back. Later, Rini, Kelly, and Melanie run some races. Melanie shows off the red ribbon she won. Rini has two, and Kelly has four. The obstacle course is announced. Kelly vaults perfectly and wins the race.
