40th Class Reunion

We celebrated the 40th anniversary of graduation and our entering a new era of experiences.  We walked the hallowed halls of our old high school (now the junior high) on Friday night.  Either we are bigger or the school is smaller!  The world sure has grown and changed since the days of sock hops and school plays.  The décor hasn’t changed in 40 years. There was the same ugly tile on the floor and in the classrooms. We walked around and talked about memories that being there brought back.  We stood in the gym and remembered preparations for the junior/senior.  Proms were cheaper then…..but I guess everything was!

Saturday night we headed to the Montgomery Recreation Center on Deerfield Road for a dinner and dancing.  Jerry Capehart still has some pretty fancy dance moves.  For some it was there first time at a reunion.  It was really great to see them.

Time changes our bodies but not the connections of our high school classmates and the things that we shared.  The only things we really get to keep in life are memories.  Everything else wears out, is thrown out, or given away when we are gone.  Memories live forever and are passed down from one to another.

We hope you will join us at our next “gathering” whenever that might be.
