I got saved when I was 15 years old at a Young Life camp.  I heard the gospel and I knew that Jesus was exactly what I had been looking for.

I went to another young life work camp when I was 17 and I felt like God had just brought Kenya into my mind. I remember telling one of my friends about it when I got home, I knew that one day I was supposed to go to Kenya.  Well God kept confirming Kenya for me.  As I entered the last years of college at Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio I heard the call more and more.  Everywhere I went had something to do with Kenya, even every class would talk about Africa. I began to pray about if I should go as a missionary or through the peacecorp, for the next two months every sermon that I went to was about missionaries in Africa. Haha I got the message clearly!!

After I graduated College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Religious Studies, I decided to Go!

I arrived in Kenya on March 5, 2004.  I was nervous and excited to be where God wanted me to be. The two verses that were in my head upon my arrival were:

1 Timothy 1:12, "I thank Jesus Christ our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service."

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 " When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.  For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.  I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.  My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on GOD’S POWER!"

God has amazed me daily since I have been here. I have seen people that I cry for because I cannot even comprehend their situation. I have seen people starving, children that are so young without breath, so many funerals, so many AIDS victims, so many people that are hurting and without hope for where there next meal will come from.  These people have so little but they are so amazing, full of such joy.

They are yearning for Christ!  So many people here know and desire the love of Christ!

My heart yearns for these people; I love them with Christ love.  God has given me such a heart for Kenyans! I am so blessed.

I go home in September and I would like to preach around the states about Kenya and the revival that is occurring here and also about how powerful our God is!

Our God truly knows exactly what we need and where we belong! AMEN! I would have never imagined 8 years ago when I got saved that I would be in Kenya, but God has more than we could ask or imagine planned for us.  When we let go and truly say, "God whatever you want, my life is yours", you will be amazed at where you go!

I am blessed. God blesses me daily. We lay our hands on sick people and they RECOVER! It is amazing.  For years I asked people why the things in the Bible weren't still happening, well they are still happening you just have to stand on the Word of God and know that what the Bible says is true! God is still performing miracles up to this moment! Jesus said we will do greater things than He has done, STAND ON THAT! We can do amazing things through the name of Christ Jesus!
