Cyber-goth band Synthetic were formed in May 1998 by Timothy C. (vocals / programming) and Sarn Vinyl (keyboards / programming). Synthetic made their live debut on 4th October 1998 at Offworld Colony, Brighton's cutting edge darkwave / industrial club. They have since played many live shows, including gigs with Andi Sex Gang, Mesh, The Narcissus Pool, The Chaos Engine and Passion Play. Guitarist Paul Five (of mutant-techno projects Sertonin Sunset and Serosun.com) joined Synthetic in March 1999. Synthetic's distinctive and uncompromising sound fuses elements of goth, techno and industrial. They released their first album "MIDI Slave" in December 1999.
"Synthetic are a bizarre cross between Strawberry Switchblade, Necromantik and a conjuring trick. PVC clad weirdness from Brighton" Nemesis Promotions
"Imagine you are at a rave, the crowd has its hands in the air but its feet tied together and is teetering on 6 inch stilettos - that's PVC stilettos of course" Delirium Tremens Magazine, September 1999
