Background/History:
Eons ago, in another part of the galaxy, a doomsday weapon was created to stop an evil empire from taking over all the known universes. The weapon, a jeweled scepter, was called the Preserver because it’s purpose was to preserve peace. When the threat was over, the scepter was broken down into pieces. The scepter, the large capstone gem, and the four smaller gems that fit into the sides were split up and given to different worlds for safekeeping. The four gems were different colors and each had control of a different aspect of reality, the capstone which had shards of the others merged them together when placed in the scepter creating a huge cosmic power pool. To make it as hard as possible to assemble the weapon, the four gems life linked to their owner. The only way to get the gems together in the scepter would be to take them away from the current holder which would sacrifice their life. In the modern days, the pieces have resurfaced, though the legends were mostly forgotten, two villains understood the power. The evil, would-be galactic conqueror named Starmaster discovered the scepter. The capstone had been placed on the earth and had been used by Dr. Merlin and is currently used by Gem Girl. The green gem that controlled life energies had been lost in a spaceship wreck thousands of years ago was just a piece of debris drifting through space until it hit the Earth’s atmosphere and ended up in the hands of New Man. Kahla Roh discovered the blue gem that controls matter while robbing a tomb on a distant planet, deciphering the carvings led her to believe she could rebuild the Preserver. Pretending that the gem was a magical weapon known as the Dark Mace, she began a career of crime with the purpose of financing her quest to gain ultimate power by gathering the parts of the scepter. She tracked down and defeated the red gem holder, a monk cloistered in a cave on a distant planet who lived in fear of altering the balance of nature by using the gem, and added it to her own giving her the power over change and transformation. The two together seemed to draw her towards the other two which led her to battle Starburst, a giant amoeba-like creature who used the energy controlling yellow gem for good. She slew Starburst, but the creature was able to propel the gem into deep space before she could take it. The yellow gem found it’s way to earth, as well, eventually ending up with the hero, Prism. Since the two gems were both in the possession of members of the Attack Legion and taking them would cause their deaths, she has come in conflict with that team most of the time. Her attempts had always been thwarted, but not without causing serious enmity between her and Blur. Finally, the damage she took from the combined attempt by Blur and Destructoid trying to remove the gems from her apparently took her life. Her ship teleported her back before they could get the gems, but too late for her to get help. The cloaked ship orbits the solar system with the two dormant gems on her corpse awaiting their next owner.

Personality/Motivations:
Kahla Roh was a space archeologist who specialized in rare, i.e., stolen, artifacts. Her only goal in life was to become wealthy enough to keep the items she stole, until she found the blue gem from the Preserver. She gave up any aspirations other than gaining that power, until it cost her life.
