Background/History:
Born to wealthy parents in New England, Sean and Mary grew up wanting for nothing. Basically good people, the older brother was quite protective of his younger sister. He was a bit more driven to wealth and power, she more toward nurturing and helping others. She followed him to college and he introduced her to Chris Talis. The two fell in love almost instantly and the three of them became nearly inseparable. They married and soon had a daughter. On a boating trip through the Bermuda Triangle, Sean, Mary, Chris, and Chris’ best friend Aaron Cromwright accidentally crossed over the Nexus of Mystical Vortices where the evil spirit of Crykill was resting. Sensing that Aaron was a suitable host for his soul, Crykill used the power of the Nexus and took possession of Aaron, but in so doing, he opened a tear in the fabric of the Nexus that bled a tidal wave of mystic energies. The boat was shattered and the passengers were hurled into a bath of sea water and mystical energies. Crykill, existing only as an evil spirit after his defeat at the hands of All American, possessed Aaron and swam away to gather his strength. Chris screamed to his wife, trying desperately to reach her, inhaling the strange mystical vapors and salt water. She and her brother were sucked down into the deep as the rift in the Nexus sealed itself. Chris became the hero known as Sound Wave due to his exposure to the mystical energies. Sean and Mary suffered a horrible fate. Drawn deep below the surface, their bodies succumbed to the pressure and they died, but their souls were saturated with mystical energies and lived on together in a combined, ghostly form know as the Revenant. No one can say exactly what forces caused Sean to be the more dominant personality or what drove him mad, but the spectral creature was most certainly insane. He hated Chris Talis and determined to take revenge on him, but the love of his sister for Talis made for conflict and he always stopped short of his goal. While plotting yet another scheme, the Revenant was attacked by a humanoid alien known as the Soul Taker. He attempted to steal the powerful soul that had drawn him across the galaxy, not realizing that the Revenant was two souls bound together. The backlash from his attempt rendered him unconscious and, upon awakening, the Revenant had an offer for him. If the Soul Taker could bind Mary and allow Sean full control, he would defeat Sound Wave, let Soul Taker have both Mary ‘s and Chris’ souls, and he would live in Sound Wave’s body. His grandiose plan failed, Sound Wave used his perfect pitch to strike a resonating chord with the magical box that Soul Taker collected souls with. When the box shattered, the hundreds of captured souls were released, including the portion of the Soul Taker’s own. The cursed item held a portion of Soul Taker’s soul which forced him to steal other souls, once the box was destroyed, he was freed from his curse as well. In gratitude to Sound Wave, he used the last of his soul stealing power to break Sean and Mary’s link. The mystical power faded, Sean’s sanity returned as his soul went to it’s final reward, and he placed Mary’s soul in the body of a young aspiring actress who had died in an accident, but her body was still in a coma. She would have no memory of being Mary Moore-Talis, but she would get to live anew.

Personality/Motivations:
The Revenant’s only goal was to destroy Sound Wave who it blamed for it’s twisted existence.
