Background/History:
Dudley was a moderately successful Irish boxer who discovered that he wasn’t
quite good enough for the professional ranks. He wound up being an enforcer for
an Irish mobster, until he met Dr. Morris Manto. Manto offered Dudley the chance
at great physical strength without mentioning that his formula had failed to
work on many other less fit subjects. It worked perfectly on Dudley. He was so
grateful to Manto for a chance to be somebody and for the constant opportunity
to fight that he stayed with Manto for years. As a way of showing his gratitude
to Crusher, Manto attempted to duplicate the procedure on a female body builder,
Anna Moore, and created Power Woman. The two hit it off and eventually married.
When Manto retired from Injustice, Crusher and his wife did, too, since Manto
was their reason for being there in the first place. Not wanting to live on the
run forever, the couple turned themselves in and paid their debt to society.
Upon their release, the two struggled to find a life where their criminal past
and super-powers did not get in the way. A chance encounter between Mammoth and
Crusher led to the Protectors hiring Crusher and Power Woman to work as physical
trainers and, if necessary, security at the Protectors Academy.
Personality/Motivation:
Always a high energy, hair tempered young man willing to fight at the slightest
excuse, Crusher mellowed with age and marriage ending up quite willing to settle
down and work at a real job
