The first six months, as illustrated in the tales June-Dec '04, were hard.  Culture shock and homesickness (never knew anyone could miss Target so much!) was intense.  Having my mobile phone and wallet stolen (at Christmas!) made the homesickness more intense.  But --

Now, either I'm numb to the differences, or I'm used to life here.  It's easier.  Not always easy but much better, and I've come to realize I shall probably be in Asia for quite some time.
Life is what you make it, and I'm doing what I can to make this an incredible experience!

The above are pix of my Q-Team.  They are awesome; they are part of what I enjoy of the Philippines.  Some of them call me "Mother Hen"  which I am assuming is a compliment (at least I hope), tho never in my life have I wanted to be a chicken...tho some times in my life I feel like I've laid a few eggs....
