Getting Started /Warm Up

 The first part of this webquest is going to happen in class. You must get to know your students, what they know, like/dislike and prefer. The homework activities for the stds will be done on the net and involve an extension or revision of what has been done in class (see portfolio).

Scaffolding/Preparing for the Quest

 This project can be done with a small class choosing just one task at a time or in a large class with groups choosing each a different one. The time for completion will depend on the number of activities chosen by the teacher and the time available online.

First steps:

• You may want to use the quotations provided for each task either as a warm up activity in the group or as food for thought and discussion (oral work)
  
  
• Language activities have been developed so as to evaluate their comprehension. You can choose from materials suggested in the resource area or develop your own from the links suggested.
  
  
• Together with the class have a look at the Copa diagram and discuss the type of restaurant you want the Copa to be, the kind of clientele you will deal with, the kind of dishes/drinks to be offered on the menu and the staff needed.
  
  
• Make sure the students have understood their tasks and they have noted down the deadlines. You may want to provide them with A Time Management guide
  
  

The Quest

In this part students should be working within their groups on the completion of their task.
