The focus of the project will be upon the different tribes and the communities surrounding it.
Students will be asked to research, contrast, compare and write about the local:

• population characteristics (origin, language, tribes, location)
• climate, landscape, elevation, plants
• means of subsistance before and now
• culture, folklore , beliefs, entertainment
• contact with white man
• economy now
• famous people (men and women)

Methodology

• Scan texts and find the information about the Apache on the net
• Note down the sources
• Discover the different areas you can envisage the problem from
• Read ,watch documentaries and complete specific language and content tasks
• Gather all specific information acquired to make a general project
• Use the experience acquired to find out information about similar topic
• Field trip: observation Guarani tribe, noting down information
• Contrast and compare two populations.

Objectives

• Practise research skills and Internet evaluation of sources
• Get hold of vocabulary needed for the tasks and practise it (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
• Practise skills as categorizing, note taking, summarizing, asking for information, observing, contrasting and comparing)
