2001 Dialogue among Civilizations
Students involved:
- seventy-five 9th graders (aged 12/15) - Local Activities and E-mailing
- twenty-five 10th graders (aged 14/16) - Forums and Classroom Twinning
- all classes from 5th grade to 9th grade - questionnaire from Sherbrooke University
- ten 11th graders (aged 15/17) - Translation site
Practice target language in a variety of contexts; Show our common responsibility towards tolerance, peace and non-violence; Develop the understanding that differences in culture, socio-economic background, religion, language, history or colour of skin give a broader perspective, widen horizons and should not be obstacles towards tolerance; Develop own views on how to make a positive contribution towards tolerance; Express and present own emotions, feelings, thoughts and views on tolerance and related topics through poems, articles, burning questions, comments; Contrast and compare different ways of life, raise awareness to stereotyping; Practice computer skills (e-mailing, present a project, interact in a forum)
