The 4 people in our group study at the Lycée Pasteur, a Franco- Brazilian school in SP, the largest and most populous city in Latin America. This city is a jungle of buildings, the pollution is in the air and violence is in the street (muggers, pickpockets, kidnappers). However, we have beautiful places to visit, like the Ibirapuera park, which is the lung of the city. Each one of us lives in a different district , each of which with a different characteristic: "Santo Amaro" used to be in the periphery of the city, with big houses and green places. It is very much a part of the city now and enormous skyscrapers are replacing the original landscape.

Two of us live in Moema, about 15 minutes from school. Here, again, tall buildings have replaced the houses and it is a mix of residential and commercial areas. Finally, one of us has just moved to Vila Guarani, southeast of the city. Large avenues criss-cross this area. The state of SP, situated in the southeast of the country, is bigger than Belgium. It is the heart which pumps the Brazilian economy because of its industrial park and the very diversified farming production. Brazil is the largest country in Latin America and it is the fifth biggest country in the world, larger than all Europe together (except for Russia). The country is well known for its carnival and soccer.
