PEACHEY FAERILAND

Welcome to my poetry page, a land filled with peaches and faeries.

This page is dedicated to creative Bus poets, and to the faerie princess, herself, whose music and lyrics have inspired me, Tori Amos, my favorite singer/songwriter/pianist.

Like Tori, I view my poems as my children, because some of them are easily born, and some take much laboring to come out. I will get up in the middle of the night if an idea springs to mind, and write it down, so as not to forget it. Sometimes I like to write about other people's idea, impromptu, and enjoy doing this and am always amazed at what comes out. My poems are all slices of who I am and my experiences. And thus they are very private. The poems take on their own distinct shape and personality. I do not follow any style or form, the poems just write themselves, and I am just the messenger. I write about everything and anything.
As a victim of sexual/physical/emotional abuse, I write about my demons and find it a very cathartic and releasing experience. By putting my story on paper, I am able to heal that part of me that has been silenced, giving it a voice, and empowering myself, breaking the chains of victimization and helplessness. I also write about life, love, ideals, relationships, people, death/suicide, sex, and things that incense me and things that I am fervent about.

My poetry spurt, is indebted to the Creative Bus poets, who have showed me the way to put my pen to the paper and make the words flow out. And foremost, my poetry has been influenced by the greatest poets in my mind, Jewel, Jim Morrison, Alanis Morissette, Radiohead, Edgar Allen Poe, and the faerie princess herself, and catalyst of all of this Tori Amos.

I welcome you to take this journey with me...leaving your prejudices and natural concepts aside to come inside my inner world. I would also appreciate your feedback and criticism of my poems. This homepage is under construction, as it is my first time making one, and I also welcome suggestions, on how to make it a more aesthetic piece. Thanks for visiting my page, and again, welcome!

Sincerely, Peaches Castanova
