A Brief History of the World

I'm going to sing you a brief history of the world
Religies say it started with a boy and a girl
But science theory says that it started with a great big bang
(of a different kind)

Well after the explosion all these bits flew out
And the planets and stars were all srtewn about
And one came to rest about the sun called the Planet Earth
(for what it's worth)

It started off with dinosaurs all plodding about
Then something happened and they all died out
Like a meteorite, or the weather just got too cold
(or they got too old)

It was round about that time that man arrived on the scene
We evolved from the monkeys and we came out of the trees
And we learned how to hunt and we learned how to cook our food
(which was bloody good)

For a hundred million years we've roamed around this Earth
And we've come up with excuses to explain our birth
And we've learned how to take orders and we've learned how to stand in line
(how to waste our time)

So, I've brought us quite briskly to the present day
Where we still look for freedom in the same old way
And we still follow leaders who will end up destroying Earth

So, I hope you've enjoyed this informative tune
And that cheeky backing singers going to get his soon
But I hope you'll all join in with the Fish on the sing-along
(hope it's not too long)
