Background/History:
Jake was very much his grandfather’s progeny which scared his parent for fear
that he would turn out like his grandfather. They made the former Hyperman
promise not to reveal his secret to his grandson until he was at least eighteen.
After Jake turned sixteen, his parents died in an airplane crash and he went to
live with grandparents. His grandfather encouraged Jake’s inventiveness, but
kept his word. After his 18th birthday, Jake found out the whole story of
Hyperman. Everything Jake had done and thought of led to that moment and his
future became clear. The two worked together and created a new suit that was
capable of space flight. While flying around space testing his suit’s
capabilities, Pomage came to him and suggested that he travel to alien worlds
and introduce them to the human race, rather than the other way around. He took
the name Starflyer and traveled the galaxy exploring and doing good. Then, he
ran into the T.E.C. Empire. He fought with the Honor League and the resistance
fighters with Mystery Man against them. When Starflyer got wind of T.E.C.’s
plans toward Earth, he returned to help raise the alarm and prepare the defense.
He decided to stay a little closer to home after that and was contacted by
Stunner to join the Hero Club as the intergalactic expert.
Personality/Motivations:
His inventive nature and his curiosity coupled with his desire to help people
meshed perfectly with the legacy of Hyperman as inspiration. He travels the
galaxy to learn about other worlds and to help those in need.
