Background/History:
Terry was a strong backed, strong willed farmboy in Wales. He was raised with a
strong work ethic and a great respect for others. In his position as foreman
running the family farm, he earned the respect of everyone due to his giving
respect to everyone, always willing to help anyone out. While checking the
fences, he heard a cry for help coming from the Old Wishing Well. It had been a
main source of water for the farm for centuries until a German bomber that had
been shot down with a load of bombs crashed in the field nearby. The well lost
it’s water, but became known as the Wishing Well because his great-grandmum
tended it like a garden and wove wonderful stories about it that have been
passed on through the years. No one was around, he thought, but the voice came
from the well and the closer he got, the more the female voice seemed to have an
echo. Someone must have fallen in the dry well, so he got a length of rope from
his truck and went to investigate. He got no response to his yelling, just the
calm cry for help. He secured the rope and climbed down. He smelled water which
was impossible, but when he reached the bottom, it was dry. The cavern he had
secretly explored as a child was exactly as he remembered it, but then, his
torch reflected off a wet surface. He stepped forward and saw water, not a pool,
but a wall of water and inside that water stood a woman. She looked as though
she were made of water herself and she smiled at him. She came to the edge of
the wall and introduced herself as the Lady of the Lake. Oddly enough, Terry was
not really shocked at that. She explained that Morgan and Modred were looking
for mystical weapons and she had hidden herself here to avoid them. Hiding was
not enough for her, she wanted to aid King Arthur’s people against his time
lost foes and had contacted him to be that aid. Although Excalibur must remain
in waiting for the time of England’s greatest threat and the return of
Pendragon himself, she had prepared another sword and a suit of armor. If he
were willing, she would grant him the weapons in return for his word to be as
one of the knights of old. Not quite sure he wasn’t dreaming, Terry vowed to
do his best to be like a Knight of the Round Table. She gave him the sword and
the armor appeared on him. He was stronger than ever and the sword was very
powerful. By sheathing the sword, his armor disappeared. He spent some time in
the USA after a vision from the Lady had told him to go and he ended up joining
the Attack Legion. He suspected that she had some ulterior motive, but he did
not know what it was. After a few years, he was homesick and she appeared to him
again to tell him to return home. He contacted the Hero Club once he returned to
Great Britain to volunteer his services. He spends his time safeguarding the
Brits and aiding the Hero Club whenever they call.
Personality/Motivations:
Terry is an English version of a good old boy, determined to help others and
uphold the ideals of the legendary knights of his homeland. Honorable to nearly
a fault and very protective of women, he seems almost to good to be true. He
takes his word very seriously and intends to sacrifice his life, if need be, to
complete his vow.
