Background/History

Cat was born in a test-tube, a clone of the female assassin known as Tiger.  Tiger’s mother, Galatea, had been trying to convert Tiger into the service of her master, Uni-Sal, for years.  And so, after many a failed attempt to have her daughter brainwashed to follow Uni-Sal, Galatea decided that the only way she was going to get her daughter back was to create her from scratch.

Galatea had Tiger kidnapped and brought to Uni-Sal’s moon base, where she began the process of having her cloned.  The process was near completion when Tiger’s husband Assassinator rescued her from her mothers clutches and destroyed the cloning apparatus.  Unfortunately, even though the process was not complete, the clone was evolved enough to be a complete woman, she simply was not as powerful as the original she was copied after.  Galatea had her clone.

Assassinator’s first intention was to destroy the clone.  But, before he had a chance the moon base was attacked by the Protectors, and wanted by the law himself, Assassinator was forced to flee with his wife.  The Protectors forced Galatea to abandon her newly cloned daughter and flee to Io and her master Uni-Sal, who was greatly displeased about the lose of the moon base.

The Protectors took the clone back to Earth and calling her Cat, have tried to teach her how to fit in to society and to use her powers in the cause of justice.  Over the years Cat has had many problems fitting in.  As a clone she has no real experience with the world and as such relies more on her feline instincts to guide her.  In one instance she accidentally killed a criminal during the course of his apprehension.  Through it all however Cat has learned and grown and continues to try to fit in as a member of the team.

Personality/Motivation

Having no real experiences of her own, Cat has the emotional development of a child.  Hence, she tends to rely more on her animal instincts then she does her reason.  Cat has done much maturing however since her creation and strives to fit in with the rest of society.
