Berrybrae

How to get there: On the A92 from Aberdeen to Fraserburgh, turn right onto A952 Peterhead for about 1.5 miles.  Just after the St Combs turn off, take the minor road for Mintlaw.  About a mile on there is a junction, take the right fork. The circle is in a clutch of trees between two roads.

Description: This circle can be disappointing from the aesthetic point of view.  Only a few of the original stones remain, with the recumbent and flankers still standing along with 2 circle stones.  What is unusual about this site is the fact that the west flanker is almost as massive as the recumbent itself.   This circle has also undrgone several changes in its use over time: from obervatory, to cremation site, to cemetary.  From life observing to death observing.

{picture coming!}
