It's not the color of you skin that makes you what you are:
It's how you live this life of yours that unique by far!
Your thoughts and fears, your joys, your voice, in fact, you laugh and smile
And all you love and any hates, all show your unique style.
Your friends--and how you make them--keep their friendship true
Through personal upheavals, are each unique to you.
Though there'll be times you'll come across some trails and tribulations,
You have to learn to recognize those unique situations.
It's how you handle others, how you treat the high and lows
In each and every situation, that lets uniqueness show.
So remember what you really are, as life purposes you
seek:
Remember that your special-- and remember your unique!

DRUGS
You don't see
Ecstasy
In a young girl's closed eyes,
As Comatose she in a hospital lies.
Or the tears a
And the fears
Of those by her side,
As the life that was hers away starts to slide.
Parents near,
Numb with fear,
Face the silent Assault
As though it was their fault
Its no joke
For those folks
Their young child to see,
Laid out on a slab in the mortuary.
Ecstasy
Can't you see
Is a drug that will kill,
And not some fancy high energy pill?
The drug's strain
On the brain
And the body is such
That many a person will find is to much

IS IT LOVE
Is it love when I wake
And the end of my dream was
Your face, your eyes, your smile?
Is it love when i make
Each day idle thought
Your face, your eyes, your smile,
Is it love when i take
Into sleep's arms each night
Your face, your eyes, your smile?

IM STILL AROUND
Although you only knew me
For a few months
And the time we had together
was ended all to soon,
Remember I am with you--
maybe a sight our sound
Will show im there beside you.
Whene'er you look around:
I'm the twinkle in my fathers eye;
The dimple on his face;
The smile around my mother's lips;
Her tender warm embrace.
When you look up in the night-sky
I'm the twinkle star above--
And to help us bear this parting,
my friend Jesus sends his love.

THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD
A child without laughter--Is a spring with no flowers;
A child without love-- Is a bed with no blanket;
A child without smiles-- Is a fire with no warmth;
A child without schooling-- Is a tree with no leaves;
A child without food-- Is a lake with no water;
A child without hope-- Is a day with no sunshine;
A child without comfort-- is a kiss with no lips;
A child without happiness-- Is a tail with no wag;
A child without friends-- is an embrace with no hug;
A child without Christmas--Is a world with no love

THROUGH SOMEONE ELSES EYES
Yesterday a butterfly
Came floating gently through the sky.
He soared up through the atmosphere
Then drifted close enough to hear.
I said, "I'd love to fly with you
And sail around the way you do.
It looks like it would be such fun
To fly up toward the summer sun.
But I have not your graceful charm.
I haven't wings, just these two arms.
I've been designed to walk around.
My human feet must touch the ground.
Then magically he spoke to me
and told me what his wish would be.
He said, "What I'd love most to do
Is walk upon God's Earth with you,
To squish it's mud between my toes
Or touch my finger to my nose.
I'd love just once to walk around
With human feet to touch the ground,
But I have not two legs that swing,
I haven't arms, just these two wings."
And so we went our separate ways
In wonder and surprise.
For we'd both seen God's precious gifts
Through someone else's eyes.

SPRING
Its breeze wipes winters sleep from Natures eye.
Pale sunshine slowly hastens snows retreat.
Young lambs seeking lifes food with plaintive cry
Do snuggle up and gorge their mothers teat;
Fresh primrose life shows first in mossy place,
Broad leaves surrounding petals small and neat,
Announcing spring -- Its tiny welcome face
Peeps shyly through a woodlands leafy peat.
Swift courting birds their nests rebuild again
In bush and tree with colours reimbued.
Clear streams, fresh filled with winters welcome rain
Do hasten past such signs of life renewed.
When Spring begins Earths romance with the Sun
So Natures yearly cycle is begun.

MOTHER
Lines of life may crease her cheeks
As she remembers how
Shell be within lifes afterglow
A few years on from now.
Shes had a loving family --
Nice daughters and fine sons;
A husband who protected them
To love when day was done.
Her children she encouraged
And guided as they grew:
Teaching them whats right and wrong --
And what and not to do.
She showed them how to pray each day
And love their fellow man;
And ran her family as a team --
As only mothers can.
She helped them with their studies
With unselfishness and grace,
And poured on them all kinds of love
As lifes highways they did pace.
And now she is a Grandma;
New lives she charms with love --
To her they are dear treasures;
Sweet gifts of God above.
Folks think that shes a wonder
Who lives life to the full;
To those whove shared it with her
She is sunshine -- never dull!
So crease again those soft, lined cheeks
To let their magic show;
Those smiles she radiates to all
Help human seedlings grow!

TEACHERS
You taught me how to read and write,
And Maths -- for which Im glad;
You taught me to know right from wrong
And also good from bad.
You taught me about teamwork
And how to be polite:
To understand weird science till
Twas clear as black and white.
You taught me foreign languages,
To speak and write my own;
To win with magnanimity
And lose without a moan.
You taught me about history
And geography too;
How strange: that rarely Ill recall
How much Ive owed to you.

THE PERFECT BODY
Deep dark skies
Gray circles under my eyes
A smile on my face
Nothing around my waist
Bloodshot eyes
Face colour dies
Tired and fait
No time to be late
No eating just run
Can you feel the sun?
Standing on the scale
I look so pale
No one is perfect
But I want to be
Why does it happen to me?

HAVE YOU EVER?
Have you ever felt alone in life,
Felt no one cared for you?
Or been out with a group of friends,
And felt alone then too?
Have you ever had a broken heart,
You felt couldn't be repaired?
Or tried to touch somebody with your words,
But knew nobody cared?
Have you ever needed good advice,
But were too afraid to call?
Or felt separated from the world,
Surrounded by a brick wall?
Have you ever been asked about your future,
And said you couldn't care less?
Or tried to pick up the pieces but,
They make just one giant mess?
Have you ever felt so confused,
That you couldn't even cry?
Have you ever felt so damn depressed;
Have you ever wished to die?

ALL ON MY OWN
Who am I to tell you no,
My heart know it's wrong
but I just can't let go.
Your smiles make me cry
and your tears do the same.
Your words leave me left
sometimes standing in the rain.
But you always say sorry
and I tend to forgive.
I've come to the point
where I don't want to live.
But who are you to tell me
that I will never be anything.
Me by myself
will make me more of something.
So this day is the day
where I'll say good-bye,
And I'll do it with dignity,
I won't even cry.
