Mystery Babylon and 666

“And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” (Rev. 17:5)

Mystery Babylon

When the Bible uses symbolic language as in the book of Revelation, a “woman” is used to type the church. The true church for example is typed out as “the bride”, “a chaste virgin”, “without spot or wrinkle” (Rev 19:7,8 Ephesians 5:27). But here in striking contrast, an unclean woman, a defiled woman, a harlot is pictured. Playing the whore refers to religious idolatry and practices.

There are numerous examples of this in scripture here is one good example:

Jeremiah 3:6 “The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? She is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.”

This “Mystery Babylon” is not a political power. Those who say the whore of Revelation 17 is the United States or some other country do NOT know their Bible. Read the scripture! She is not classed as one of the Kings of the Earth! She only causes the Kings and the inhabitants of the Earth to be made drunk with the wine of her fornication, which is spiritual adultery! Her influence over the nations is through religion! She has power over the nations, but is not a king of the earth.

The words “Mystery Babylon” identify this Harlot quite clearly. She is identified with the ancient religion, rites and practices of ancient Babylon. The religion of the Babylonians worshipped in a system of idolatry carried through mysterious symbols. It is called a “mystery” religion.

Origins of Babylon

Babel is the original name for Babylon. Its name means “confusion”. All false religions, false doctrines, and mythology can be traced right back to Genesis chapters 10 and 11, as having their roots in ancient Babylon.

Babylon was literally started by Cush, the Son of Ham, though it was brought to prominence through his son Nimrod. Since the Bible does not deal in the histories of other nations in detail, it is necessary to study the profane or secular histories in order to obtain answers about their origins.

Hyginus, in his book“Fabulae” in 1856, noted that Cush was known as the “interpreter of the gods”. Cush was the one who drew the people away from the worship of the one God into forms of polytheism and claimed to be the “interpreter” for these false gods. The god known variously in mythology as Bel, Hermes, and Mercury (god of orators), is none other than Cush. According to history Hermes was the great prophet of idolatry. The word “Hermeneutics”, the study of the methodological principles of interpretation is derived from his name as Hermes.

Bel in the Roman mythology is called Janus. He is pictured as having two faces, and carrying a club which he confounded or scattered the people. Ovid writing in 1661 noted that Janus said concerning himself, “the ancients called me chaos.” It is Bel, “the confounder” that is responsible for the “chaos” that ensued with the Tower of Babel.

Genesis 11: 4 “And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

It was Cush, who as the interpreter of the gods caused the people to be scattered. It was Cush who caused the chaos. God used his law of Judgment, since Cush claimed to be the interpreter of the gods; the true God confounded the people’s language. Since they feared being scattered over the Earth, God then scattered them abroad as punishment.

The prophet Jeremiah alluded to this event when he said in

Jeremiah 50:2 “Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.”

Bel the confounder is confounded, that was God’s judgment, the punishment fitting the crime.

Nimrod, the son of Cush, became a mighty one in the earth (Genesis 10:8). It was under the leadership of Nimrod that Babylon was made into the first great kingdom of grandeur and power. Nimrod according to the Genesis account and profane history set out to accomplish three things. He wanted to build a strong nation, which he did. He wanted to propagate his own religion, which he did. He wanted to make a name for himself, which he also accomplished. His accomplishments were so monumental that Babylon is called the head of gold amongst all world governments (See Daniel 2).

Nimrod and his beautiful queen Semiramis started the Babylonian religion. Nimrod also became known as Molech. When Nimrod died, Semiramis proclaimed that she was a goddess, and that Nimrod was now Baal the sun, the sun god. The followers of her kingdom had to pass through the fire of the sun god Molech(Leviticus 18:21, Jeremiah 32:35) as an act of faith. She demanded that babies be sacrificed to Molech (Leviticus 20:2, 4) so she might conceive a son. When her son Tammuz was born she claimed he was the hero Nimrod reborn (this is where the idea of reincarnation, ancestor worship, and the worship of nature-he was the sun god, and she was the moon goddess- began amongst pagan cultures).

All false doctrine and religions have their source in ancient Babylon and then spread throughout the earth. In the religion that she promoted the objects of worship were the Supreme Father (Nimrod, the sun god), Semiramis (the queen of heaven), and her seed Son. No doubt Semiramis knew of the coming of the promised “seed of the woman” of Genesis 3:15 and said she fulfilled that promise. This was the beginning of the pagan doctrine of the Trinity.

The chief characteristic of the Babylonian religion were characterized by the fact that they worshipped a three-headed god on one body. In the one God of the Babylonians, there were three persons to symbolize the doctrine of the Trinity as shown in Parsons Japhet in 1767. The historian, H. W. F. Saggs, explains that the Babylonian triad consisted of ‘three gods of roughly equal rank…whose inter-relationship is of the essence of their natures (The Greatness that was Babylon: A Sketch of the Ancient Civilization of the Tigris-Euphrates Valley. New York: New American Library. 1968.)

Layard’s Babylon and Ninevah, 1853, also proved that the Babylonians used an equilateral triangle to symbolize their divine deity. The Egyptians also adopted the triangle as a symbol of their tri-form divinity as shown by Maurice’s Indian Antiquities in 1794.

In India, The Hindu trinity is of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. They are respectively the creator, preserver and destroyer of the universe. The trinity represents the deity in its threefold nature and function. Each aspect of the trinity contains and includes the others. Now that is good modern theology!

Archaeological expeditions in ancient Mesopotamia have uncovered the fascinating culture of the Sumerians, which flourished over 4,000 years ago. The historian S. H. Hooke (Babylonian and Assyrian Religion. Norman: U of Oklahoma P.1963) tells in detail of the ancient Sumerian trinity: Anu was the primary god of heaven, the ‘Father’, and the ‘King of the Gods’; Enlil, the ‘wind-god’ was the god of the earth, and a creator god; and Enki was the god of waters and the ‘lord of wisdom’ (15-18). This is very similar to the Trinity of India.

The polytheistic religion of the enemy came into the form of a trinitarian god. It was way back in the antiquities that the idea of one god in three persons began. How strange that our modern theologians have not spotted this. Isn’t it strange that the descendants of Ham went on their way with Satanic worship which involved a basic concept of three gods on one body? Is it not strange that the Hebrews believed, “Hear oh Israel, the Lord our God, is One God,” not a trace of a Trinity of Gods anywhere among them?

Is it not strange that the devil’s worshippers actually had more revelation; more revealed truth than Abraham the father of Faith, and his descendants? Rites and Rituals

The Babylonian religion developed a number of pagan rites and rituals.

Prayer beads were used among pagan worshippers from ancient times in praying to their Mother goddess. Layard wrote that prayer beads were used in ancient Ninevah. The Phoenicians were using prayer beads since at least 800 B.C, in worship to their Mother goddess Astarte. These prayer beads were found on some ancient Phoenician coins. The Brahmans and Hindus of India used prayer beads from the earliest times. The worshippers of Vishnu used prayer beads with 108 beads. The Buddhists of Tibet use a similar prayer bead. The worshippers of Diana of Ephesus (Semiramis), worshipped her by repeating a phrase over and over: “all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians” (Acts 19:34). Prayer beads were used as prayer counters to say prayers in repetition. This very thing Jesus said not to do.

Matthew 6: 7 “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.”

Since Nimrod died and was exalted as the sun god, prayers to the dead were instituted in the ancient religion of the Babylonians. Ritual prayers to the dead were common in ancient religious practices of India, Tibet, and Nepal as recorded in the “Tibetan Book of the Dead.” Prayers to the dead are unscriptural. Jesus is not dead he is “Risen” from the dead, and “is alive forever more.” We are to worship a living God, not pray to the dead. This is a pagan practice originating from the Mother of all false religion Babylon.

Semeramis discovered a way to pry into the secrets of her followers. The Babylonian priests set up the institute of the confessional. This was used to control the people. Nothing was kept secret from her. The people feared their priests. They were afraid of being blackmailed. Satan, of course, loved this idea. He would use the confessional in the future to destroy nations. (The Force, Alberto Part Four, pg. 10, 1983 Chick Publications)

Seated on 7 Hills

“And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.” (Revelation 17:9)

In his prophecy John tells us who this woman is, by telling us where she is seated. Only one city in the world can match this description…Rome.

Historically, scripturally, and geographically, Rome is the only city that is situated on seven hills. The argument that the word mountain is not a hill as given by Roman Catholic apologists does not hold. The word in the Greek is Oros, Strong’s number 3735, it means “to rise over a plain, a hill, a mountain.”

Further her seven peaks are named 1) Aventine, 2) Caelian, 3) Capitoline 4) Esquiline, 5) Palatine, 6) Quirinal, 7) Viminal. The Mother Church of Rome that sits upon these seven hills, is the head of denominations, the World Council of Churches, and is the only religious power in the world to hold a seat on the United Nations.

The Mother and Child

Jesus said, "I am the True Vine" (John 15: 1). He was the true promised "seed of the woman", the Messiah that God promised Adam and Eve would come to redeem mankind. The False Vine, the false seed, Semiramis and Tammuz, were counterfeits that Satan wrought to lead the people into idolatry and worship him as the promised Christ that was to come, as it has always been his desire to be worshipped as God.

Semiramis deified her dead husband and claimed he was the sun god reincarnated in her son. She became the mother of the son, and the mother of the gods, and was exalted as the queen of heaven. Jeremiah 7: 18

“The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.”

Man left the worship of the one true God, the father-creator, and then began to worship Mother and Child. Semiramis and Tammuz were the objects of adoration in the Babylonian Trinity. The worship of the false pagan Trinity and the Mother and child worship spread throughout the earth. They kneaded dough to make cakes to the Queen of heaven as a sacrament.

Hinduism: "I am the Father of this Universe. I am the Mother of this universe, and the Creator- of all. I am the Highest to be known, the Purifier, the holy OM, and the three Vedas." (BG 9.17)

The Babylonian doctrine of the Motherhood of God established a firm root in Hinduism. Today Hindus worship the Divine Mother in many popular forms such as Durga, Kali, Lakshrni, Saraswati, Ambika, and Uma.

The following is taken right off a major Hindu web-site: “By worshipping God as the Divine Mother, a Hindu can more easily attribute Motherly traits to the Lord, such as tenderness and forgivingness. The natural love between a Mother and her child is the best expression of the Lord's unconditional love for us as children of God. Since all created forms proceed from the womb of the mother, the creative power shakti) of God is recognized by Hindus as the female principle or the motherly aspect of nature…In this sense we are all children of the Divine Mother. We are contained by Her before our - manifestation and nourished by Her throughout our existence.”

    Sound familiar?

The worship of the Mother as the “Queen of Heaven” is a common form of worship in many pagan cultures, as is the worship of the Mother and Child together. Notice their characteristics:

Mary as Queen of Heaven?

Pope Pius XII said of Mary:

“Mary is Queen by grace, by divine relationship, by right of conquest and by singular election. And he kingdom is as vast as that of her Son and God, since nothing is excluded from her dominion. And this Queenship of hers is essentially maternal, exclusively beneficent.” (Mary in the Documents of the Magisterium, Eamon R. Carroll, Bruce Publishing Co. 1955, pg. 49)

Is Mary a co-mediator and co-redeemer with Christ?

Mary’s Roman Catholic title as spiritual mother provides a context for additional spiritual titles the church has given her: co-redemptrix and mediatrix.

In the words of catholic theologian Ludwig Ott,

“As Mary became the spiritual mother of all redeemed, it is fitting that she by her constant motherly intercession should care for the supernatural life of all her children.” (Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma, 4th ed. TAN Books and Publishers, 1960, pg. 215.)

Pope Benedict XV says Mary is co-redeemer with Christ:

“Thus, she (Mary) suffered and all but died along with her Son suffering and dying; thus for the salvation of men she abdicated the rights of a mother toward her Son, and insofar as was hers to do, she immolated the Son to placate God’s justice, so that she herself may justly be said to have redeemed together with Christ the human race.” (Carroll pg. 37)

Pope Leo XIII says no one can come to Christ except through his Mother:

"Nothing whatever of that immense treasure of all graces, which the Lord brought us…is granted to us save through Mary, so that, just as no one can come to the Father on High except through the Son, so almost in the same manner, no one can come to Christ except through his mother.” (Quoted from Ungers notes in Pope Pius X, Dominic J. Unger, St. Anthony Guild Press, 1948, pg.8)

Nowhere does the Bible teach such an inflated concept of Mary’s role. The Catholic Church has given Mary the title of "Queen of Heaven" which is completely Babylon in origin and condemned by God in scripture as we have seen. The Roman Catholic churches radical devotion to Mary is completely against scripture and has its roots in Babylon.

The Roman Catholic Church's veneration of Mary as mediatrix negates Christs role as our great High Priest and replaces the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible gives the truth. The central problem with the Roman Catholic dogma of Mary as Mediatrix, indeed the most critical problem in all of Mariology is that it is a clear violation of the following verse that refutes the entire pagan idea:

1st Timothy 2:5 “There is ONE God, and ONE mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (NASB).

That means not Mary, not a Pope, not a Bishop, not a Priest, no mediator between man and God except the Lord Jesus Christ and Christ alone!

The veneration of Mary (Semiramis) as the “queen of heaven” making her mediatrix and co-redeemer is strictly from Babylon. The attributes of Mary as a “goddess” are easily seen in the Hindu religion as well. Jesus clearly rejected the doctrine of Mary as “mother of God”.

Luke 8:20-21 "And someone said to Him (Jesus), Your mother and your brothers are outside desiring to see you. But he said to them in answer, my mother and my brothers are those who have knowledge of the word of God and do it."

Perpertual Virginity?

The exaltation of Mary and her Perpetual Virginity are nonsense in the light of scripture. The following scripture is proof:

“And knew her not TILL she had brought forth her FIRSTBORN son:" –Matthew 1:25

Romanism tries explain away this fatal contradiction by pretending or deliberately misleading its readers that the Mary spoken of is not the same Mary, the mother of earthly Jesus. But that won't work. The Scripture plainly refers to JESUS (Mark 6) teaching in the synagogue, and they in the synagogue call Mary his mother, and then start naming her children. To say the word “brother” means something or someone else, takes the scripture clearly out of context. There is no scripture that says Mary took a perpetual vow of celibacy, she was not a nun, she had a husband, and they came together as any husband and wife would after Jesus was born as Matthew 1:25 alludes to.

This scripture proves to any reasonable and unbiased viewer the Truth:

“And when the Sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?" --Matthew 13:54-56

FROM PAGAN TO PAPAL

Throughout the Roman Empire, paganism died in one form, only to live again within the Roman Catholic Church (Babylon Mystery Religion Ancient and Modern, Woodrow, 1966.)

And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.(Revelation 13: 3)

Pharaoh of Egypt carried in a procession. The fan is not for keeping the flies away. It was known as the "Mystic Fan of Bacchus" and was a symbol of Pharaoh's authority. On the right we see Pope Pious XII carried in procession. Notice the "Mystic Fan."

Constantine united his kingdom with the Christians: the very same thing Ahab did with Jezebel, marrying into paganism, and idolatry. When he saw the chance to unite his people and make a great powerful nation out of it, he took the pagan religious practices of Rome and united them with those of the Church and made them into a church-state religion. When they had the Nicene Council, over the question come of whether there was one God or three; whether they should baptize in the Name of Jesus Christ, or Father, Son and Holy Ghost; there was a showdown. Some of the real godly Bible Believers went with nothing but sheepskin on. But the highminded dignitaries had already invaded the church, and they shut them up with worldly wisdom. Then the church went into pagan darkness for about a thousand years until the reformation.

The trident of Babylon was placed in the hands of all the pagan gods. Here is the trident of Enlil, one of the memebers of the trinity of ancient Sumeria. The wavy lines of the female and the straight line of the male are a symbol of pagan fertility. On the right we have a Roman Catholic statue of the infant Jesus with the pagan trident on his head in the exact same manner.

And as they look they do not realize that the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican, is literally a nation within a nation, and she has ambassadors and receives ambassadors. Nebuchednezzar was given the vision of the great world empires to come; his was the Head of Gold-Babylon, the chest of arms and silver was the kingdom of the Medes and Persians, the belly and thighs of brass was the third great world kingdom of the Greeks under Alexander the Great, and the Fourth had Legs of Iron which was Rome. The feet represent the final world power, a mixture of Iron and Clay which is the old Roman empire going from Pagan Imperial Rome to Papal Rome, the Holy Roman Empire.

Notice what Brother Branham says in 1962 at the height of American fears of communism:

"Don't you never fear anything about communism. It ain't nothing. I want any minister, or any scriptural leader, to ever show me in the Bible where communism will rule the world. Romanism's going to rule the world, according to the Bible. You watch that. Don't you think about communism. It's just a puppet in the hands of God to fulfill His will. Exactly what He said. Revelation 17: 10 “And there are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.”

As John had received the vision five kings had already fallen. They were

1. Julius Caesar
2. Tiberius
3. Caligula
4. Claudius
5. Nero.

Number 6 was at the time of John, “one is”, and that was Domitian, who was alive on the throne when John received the vision. The seventh is the crowned antichrist.

"Now watch, "the beast." The beast wasn't a king. He was “one which is, which is not; and yet he is.” What is it? It’s the succession of the popes, a power, and a beast ruling. That's when pagan Rome was converted to make papal Rome. Pagan Rome was converted, and then it become the papacy, which, they had a Pope instead of a Caesar, and the pope is the spiritual king. The Roman Catholic Church adopted the pagan practices and religion of ancient Babylon. She used Christian names and titles, but it was Babylonian worship/Satanism appearing in the Name of Christ! Satan desires to be worshipped as God, in the place of God, and in the Name of God! (See Isaiah 14:12-14 and Ezekiel 28)

Below we see the use of the pine cone used in many pagan religions as a symbol of fertility and virginity. The Pinea corona was the emblem of virginity, which Daphne took from Chloe and placed on her own head. In ancient Rome, the chaste Diana was crowned with a chaplet of pine. Because pine was so important and sacred, the Roman poet Ovid referred to pine branches as cut from arbore pura, a pristine tree. The pole of Bacchus is described by Roman writers as an inflammable and fragrant pine pole (Mirov, N.T. and J. Hasbrouck, 1976. The story of pines. Indiana University Press 148 pp.)

2 Corinthians 11:14 “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”

It appears to be Christian by its name and outer form, but its speaking, its doctrine is the doctrine of devils!

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” (Revelation 13:11)

It was outwardly a lamb in appearance but spoke like a dragon (Satan), speaking doctrines of devils.

The scripture identifies it perfectly:

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith (the teachings of the apostles), giving heed to seducing spirits (idolatry), and doctrines of devils (salvation by works, a trinity of gods using Christian names); Speaking lies in hypocrisy (Peter the first Pope, Mary queen of heaven); having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry (priests), and commanding to abstain from meats(fish on Friday), which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”

The forms of Babylonian Religion were mixed into Christianity in the Church of Rome and became the dogma of the church. Idolaters! They took statues of Venus and called them Mary, they took the statues of Jupiter and said they were Peter, they took the Babylonian statues of Semiramis and Tammuz and called those Mary and baby Jesus. The Bible strictly forbids this in the Old Testament:

“The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therin: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God” (Deuteronomy 7:25).

This statue of Jupiter was renamed to St. Peter and currently sits in the vatican, notice the pagan votive hand symbol.

Other false practices from Babylon include, prayers through Mary, prayers to dead saints, the Rosary (prayer beads), the confessional, false sacraments, pagan holidays, and even the pagan trinity little by little became a part of Christian worship.

Drunken with the Blood of the Saints

”And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.” (Revelation 17: 6)

The scripture declares that this whore religious system, filled with Idolatry is also guilty of the martyrdom of the saints of Jesus. Their blood is on her hands.

The respected Historian S.S. Schmucker in his famous book, “The Glorious Reformation”; Gould and Newman, 1838, reported that the Roman Catholic Church was responsible for the death of 68 million Christians who would not bow their knees to the “authority” of the Church of Rome. This is a number that makes the Jewish Holocaust pale in comparison.

According to the Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius IX, it is an ERROR to say that the "church" has not the right to use force. The following is listed as error number twenty-four.

24. The Church has not the power of using force, nor has she any temporal power, direct or indirect. -- Apostolic Letter "Ad Apostolicae," Aug. 22, 1851."

Below is the Induction and Extreme Oath of the Jesuits taken from the Library of Congress proving that they believe in the murder of heretics who will not bow their knee to the authority of the Church of Rome. This still sits on their books today!

The Ceremony of Induction and Extreme Oath of the Jesuits - from the Library of Congress, Washington D.C. Catalog Card 66-43354:

A Jesuit to be elevated to command, is brought in front of an altar with a Superior in front, and a monk on either side. One holds a Papal banner of yellow and white, and the other a black banner bearing a dagger, and red cross over a skull and crossbones with the words: INRI IUSTUM NECAR REGES IMPIOS meaning It is just to exterminate or annihiliate impious or heretical Kings, Governments or Rulers.

”I, Name of Jesuit, Now in the presence of Almighty God, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Blessed Michael the Archangel, the blessed St. John the Baptist, the holy Apostles St. Peter and St. Paul and all the saints and sacred hosts of heaven, and to you , my ghostly father, the Superior General of the Society of Jesus, founded by St. Ignatius Loyola, in the Pontificate of Paul the Third, and continued to the present, do by the womb of the Virgin, the matrix of God, and the rod of Jesus Christ, declare and swear, that his holiness the Pope is Christ's Vicegerent and is the true and only Head of the Catholic or Universal church throughout the earth; and that by virtue of the keys of binding and losing, given to his Holiness by my Saviour, Jesus Christ, he hath power to depose heretical kings, princes, states, commonwealths and governments, all being illegal without his sacred confirmation and that they may safely be destroyed.”

"I furthermore promise and declare that I will, when opportunity presents, make and wage relentless war, secretly or openly, against all heretics, Protestants and Liberals, as I am directed to do, to extirpate and exterminate them from the face of the whole earth; and that I will spare neither age, sex or condition; and that I will hang, burn, waste, boil, flay, strangle and bury alive these infamous heretics, rip up the stomachs and wombs of their women and crush their infants' heads against the walls, in order to annihilate forever their execrable race. That when the same cannot be done openly, I will secretly use the poisoned cup, the strangulating cord, the steel of the poinard or the leaden bullet, regardless of the honor, rank, dignity, or authority of the person or persons, whatever may be their condition in life, either public or private, as I at any time may be directed so to do by any agent of the Pope or Superior of the Brotherhood of the Holy Faith, of the Society of Jesus."

The last part of the Jesuit oath includes: “All of which, I (Name of Jesuit), do swear by the blessed Trinity and blessed Sacrament (wafer), which I am now to receive, to perform and on my part to keep inviolably; and do call all the heavenly and glorious host of heaven to witness these my real intentions to keep this my oath.”

This has never been taken off the books. Despite all their claims at reform, the Church of Rome still has it on her books to put to death those who will not bow to her teachings. The Council of Trent strongly stated that anyone who would not accept the dogma’s of the Church at Rome were “Anathema” which means cursed, and worthy of death.

The Council of Trent spewed forth curses upon those who accepted the Bible as the sole authority for faith and practice and who therefore rejected Roman dogmas, which set into motion the terrible counter-reformation, which proclaimed the Roman Catholic Church as the only true church of Jesus Christ, and which worked to codify age-old Catholic heresies such as the blasphemous doctrine that Catholic tradition is equal in authority to the Holy Scriptures and which raised to canonical authority the apocryphal books. The fact is that the Vatican Council II declarations of the 1960s and the New Catholic Catechism of the 1990s have reaffirmed the Council of Trent unequivocally.

The scripture clearly identifies the Harlot of Revelation 17 as being the Roman Catholic Church who sits on 7 hills, and assumed the powers of the old Caesar of Rome through religion, from pagan to papal, with the Blood of the Saints on her hands.

Today the revisionist historians and Catholic apologists have been busily re-writing the history of the Inquisition as a cover up. Many older books on the subject have quietly disappeared from libraries. They have been bought up and burned. The truth of the inquisition is one of Rome’s darkest secrets that she tries to hide from the public.

Foxe’s Book of Martyr’s was first published in 1563. He then labored for seven more years on the book, paying careful attention to details and accuracy. The second edition in 1570 has withstood the test of time, no one has been able to disprove his accounts. This is one of the books that is still available and it recounts thousands of well known Martyrs as recorded in history, especially during the early years of the Reformation.

The slaughter didn’t end with the publication of John Foxe’s book. No, the Church at Rome continued to be drunk on the blood of the Saints. On August 24, 1572, was the date of the infamous St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre in France. On that day, over 400 years ago, began one of the most horrifying holocausts in history. The glorious Reformation, begun in Germany on October 31, 1517, had spread to France—and was joyfully received. A great change had come over the people as industry and learning began to flourish, and so rapidly did the Truth, that Romanism was the Harlot of Revleation 17, spread that over a third of the population "came out" of the Roman Catholic Church and embraced Protestant Christianity. This alarmed Rome!

The spiritual adviser to King Pepin was a Jesuit, and he urged the King to massacre the Protestants. Beginning at Paris, the French soldiers and the Roman Catholic clergy fell upon the unarmed people, and blood flowed like a river throughout the entire country. Men, women, and children fell in heaps before the mobs and the bloodthirsty troops. In one week, almost 100,100 Protestants perished. The rivers of France were so filled with corpses that for many months no fish were eaten. In the valley of the Loire, wolves came down from the hills to feed upon the decaying bodies of Frenchmen. The list of massacres was as endless as the list of the dead!

When news of the Massacre reached the Vatican there was jubilation! Cannons roared—bells rung—and a special commemorative medal was struck—to honor the occasion! This coin of Gregory X111 commemmorates the St.Bartholomew Day massacre as a victory over "heretics".

Mother of Harlots

She is called the Mother of Harlots. A harlot is a whore, an immoral women. What made her immoral? Her doctrine. She was pretending to be a Christian church, but was giving out manmade dogma instead of the word. She was the first organization, the "mother church" of denominations. If she is a mother then she has children. There are some organizations with the same denominational system and teaching some of the same doctrine. A harlot is a women. So this false mother church organization has harlot daughters just like her.

Here is Wisdom

“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” (Revelation 13:18)

A Vicar General is defined in the 1994 Catholic Almanac on page 330 as "a priest or bishop appointed by the bishop of a diocese to serve as his deputy, with ordinary executive power, in the administration of the diocese." So a vicar serves in the place of (substituting for) the bishop, and assumes his power of office for certain duties. So the Papal title of VICAR OF JESUS CHRIST which in Latin is VICARIUS FILII DEI means a SUBSTITUTE FOR CHRIST, or assuming the power of God on earth! This blasphemous claim is made repeatedly by various Popes and is the very foundation of Roman Catholicism and it's Papacy.

Clearly then, Vicar of Christ or Vicarius Christi and Anti-Christ mean exactly the same. The Pope substitutes himself in place of God on earth, and that is *exactly* the meaning of Anti-Christ.

Some Catholics will claim that the title VICARIUS FILII DEI is an anti-catholic fabrication, a complete fake, never used by the Catholic Church. The following evidence is offered to prove that VICARIUS FILII DEI is indeed genuine.

Vicarius Filii Dei translated in English is “Vicar of the Son of God”, a phrase that has been used by Catholics:

The following comes from the mouth of the Dragon: The Temporal Power of the Vicar of Jesus Christ, by Henry Edward Manning, D.D. (appointed Archbishop of Westminster in 1865 and Cardinal in 1875), published in 1862 in London by Burns & Lambert, 17 &18 Portman Street, pages 230-232.

“…So that I may say there never was a time when the temporal power of the Vicar of the Son of God….was more firmly rooted through-out the whole unity of the Catholic Church in the hearts and convictions of its members…. It was a dignified obedience to bow to the Vicar of the Son of God, and to remit the arbitration of their griefs to one whom all wills consented to obey.”

The Donation of Constantine proved to be a forgery in 1440 by Laurentius Valla who proved it had to have been written several centuries after the death of Constantine (337 A.D.), but was quoted by no less than 10 popes to prove Papal authority. The Vatican condemned Valla's scholarly work by listing it in the Index Librorum Prohibitorum, the Index of Prohibited Books of 1559. The donation reads in part as follows in Latin:

Sicut B. Petrus in terris VICARIUS FILII DEI esse videtur constitutus, ita et Pontifices, qui ipsius principis apostolorum gerunt vices, principatus potestatem amplius quam terrena imperialis nostrae serenitatis mansuetudo habere videtur, conscessam a nobis nostroque imperio obtineant...

In English that is- “As the Blessed Peter is seen to have been constituted vicar of the Son of God on the earth, so the Pontiffs who are the representatives of that same chief of the apostles, should obtain from us and our empire the power of a supremacy greater than the clemency of our earthly imperial serenity is seen to have conceded to it…”

In the April 18th, 1915 edition of Our Sunday Visitor, (a Catholic publication), Rev. John F. Noll, editor, the following question was addressed on page 3, in the section titled Bureau of Information:

Q: "What are the letters supposed to be in the Pope's crown, and what do they signify, if anything?"

A: “The letters inscribed in the Pope's mitre are these: Vicarius Filii Dei, which is the Latin for the Vicar of the Son of God. Catholics hold that the church which is a visible society must have a visible head. Christ, before His ascension into heaven, appointed St. Peter to act as His representative. Upon the death of Peter the man who succeeded to the office of Peter as Bishop of Rome, was recognized as the head of the Church. Hence to the Bishop of Rome, as head of the Church, was given the title "Vicar of Christ."

So we see right from Roman Catholic sources that the Pope is titled, the “Vicar of Christ”, and the letters ascribed to his mitre (a liturgical headdress worn by bishops and abbots), are Vicarius Filii Dei.

Vicarius means substituting or in place of, Filii means Son, and Dei means God, together it means Instead of, or in place of the Son of God.

Latin is an alpha-numeric language, that is one where some letters are also used as numbers. This is important because the Latin language was the one spoken in the Roman Empire. I = 1 V = 5 X = 10 L=50 C=100 D=500 M=1000 (In the Latin Dictionary U and V are interchangeable.)

If we take the Latin letters which are also numbers in the name “Vicarius Filii Dei” we get the following computation.

This identification of 666 with the Papal title of Vicarius Fill Dei cannot be denied.

The ANTICHRIST and VICAR OF CHRIST are absolutely identical in meaning!!! They both define one who substitutes himself in place of the Son of God.

Someone else’s name or title might add up to 666, but they don’t have religious powers over the nations, they don’t have a seat on the United Nations, they don’t have the blood of the Saints on their hands, they don’t sit on 7 hills and promote the false pagan Mystery religion of ancient Babylon under Christian names. The Roman Catholic Church and her Pope are the only ones to meet ALL of the qualifacations! SHE IS MYSTERY BABYLON!!

Nothing Hid That Shall Not Be Revealed

The Roman Catholic Priest Scandal of 2002 brought to light the sins of many Catholic Priests who have gone the way of Balaam. They thought God would bless them in their error but instead God exposed them for their evil deads.

Matthew 10:26 "Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known."

The Babylonian System tried to hide and cover up their sins of sexual depravity, child molestation, rape, and homosexual sodomy of children. The Cardinals simply moved a Priest who did these horrible things to another community where he would do the same thing.

"But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was." --2 Timothy 3:9

Why did it happen? Because the priests in question were men who had no outlet for their human sexual desire because the Babylonian System would not let them marry. They then mis-used their position of authority to seduce children into satisfying their lusts. And God exposed them for it. Now as the scripture declares it has been made known and their folly, their falsehood is known before all men.

Does the Bible prevent the clergy from marrying?

Absolutely not. The celibacy of the Priesthood was not decreed until the 11th century and it is absolutely contrary to the word of God.
