POPS HAS MORE SENIOR NEWS

I am working on it ! Slow for sure but for sure !

WHAT TO GAIN FROM THIS

Ά I hope that you will use and share these two pages for SENIORS with those who are not seniors.

€ As with the need for understanding in all aspects of our lives, it behooves the youngers to understand what their SENIORS ARE ONLY TRYING TO DO ~ ~ ~ PASS OUR LEARNING EXPERIENCES THROUGH OUR MISTAKES ON TO THE YOUNGERS SO THEY WILL NOT DO THE SAME MISTAKES.

€ AND TO PASS TO THE RIGHT THINGS THEY DID SO THAT THE YOUNGERS LIVES WILL ALWAYS BE "BETTER" !

AND SO FORTH • • •

THE OLD WOMAN

Author Unknown

WHAT DO YOU SEE NURSES,
WHAT DO YOU SEE ?
WHAT ARE YOU THINKING,
WHEN YOU LOOK AT ME

DO YOU SEE ~
A CRABBY OLD WOMAN,
NOT VERY WISE
UNCERTAIN OF HABIT,
WITH FAR AWAY EYES.

A PERSON WHO DRIBBLES HER FOOD,
AND MAKES NO REPLY
WHEN YOU SAY IN A LOUD VOICE,
"I DO WISH YOU'D TRY"

A WOMAN WHO DOESN'T SEEM TO NOTICE
THE THINGS THAT YOU DO,
AND FOREVER IS LOSING
A STOCKING OR SHOE.

A PERSON, MAYBE RESISTING AT TIMES,
LETS YOU DO AS YOU WILL,
WITH MY BATHING AND FEEDING,
AND HANDING ME MY PILLS.

IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE THINKING ?
IS THAT WHAT YOU SEE ?

THEN OPEN YOUR EYES NURSES,
CAUSE YOU'RE NOT LOOKING AT ME.

I'LL TELL YOU WHO I AM,
AS I SIT HERE SO STILL,
AS I RISE AT YOUR BIDDING,
AS I EAT AT YOUR WILL.

I AM A CHILD OF TEN
WITH A MOTHER AND FATHER
AND BROTHERS AND SISTERS,
WHO LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

A YOUNG GIRL OF SIXTEEN,
WITH WINGS ON HER FEET,
DREAMING THAT SOON NOW,
A LOVER SHE WILL MEET.

A BRIDE SOON AT TWENTY,
THE HEART GIVES A LEAP,
REMEMBERING THE VOWS
THAT I PROMISED TO KEEP.

AT TWENTY-FIVE NOW
I HAVE YOUNG OF MY OWN,
WHO NEED ME TO BUILD
A SECURE, HAPPY HOME.

A YOUNG WOMAN OF THIRTY.
MY YOUNG NOW GROW FAST,
BOUND TO EACH OTHER,
WITH TIES THAT SHOULD LAST.

AT FIFTY ONCE MORE,
BABIES PLAY AROUND MY KNEE.
AGAIN WE KNOW CHILDREN,
MY LOVED ONE AND ME.

DARK DAYS ARE UPON ME,
MY HUSBAND IS DEAD,
I LOOK AT THE FUTURE,
AND SHUDDER WITH DREAD.

FOR MY YOUNG ONES ARE ALL BUSY,
RAISING YOUNG OF THEIR OWN,
AND I THINK OF THE YEARS
AND THE LOVE I HAVE KNOWN.

I AM AN OLD WOMAN NOW,
AND NATURE IS CRUEL.
NATURE MAKES OLD AGE
LOOK LIKE SUCH A FOOL.

THE BODY IS CRUMBLED,
GRACE AND VIGOR DEPART.
THERE IS NOW A STONE
WHERE I ONCE HAD A HEART.

BUT INSIDE THIS OLD CARCASS,
A YOUNG GIRL STILL DWELLS.
AND NOW AND AGAIN
MY BATTERED HEART SWELLS.

I REMEMBER THE JOYS,
I REMEMBER THE PAIN,
AND I AM LOVING AND LIVING
LIFE ALL OVER AGAIN.

I THINK OF THE YEARS,
ALL TOO FEW, AND GONE TO FAST
AND I ACCEPT THE STARK FACT
THAT NOTHING CAN LAST.

SO OPEN YOUR EYES, NURSES,
OPEN THEM AND SEE,
LOOK A LITTLE CLOSER, NURSES...
PLEASE~~SEE THE REAL ME.

"THE PRESENT"

€IMAGINE there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries your account over no balance from day to day.

€ Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balane you failed to use during the day.

€  What would you do ? Draw out every cent, of course !!!! Each of us has such a bank. It's name is "TIME". Every morning, it credits us with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose.

€It carries over no balance. It allows no overdrafts. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each day it burns the remains of the day.

€If you fail to use the days deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. The there is no drawing against the "TOMMORROW". You must live in the present on today's deposits. Inest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success ! The clock is running !>

€ MAKES THE MOST OF TODAY † † † € To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a grade.
€ To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature child.
€ To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, as a person who missed the plane.
€ To realize the value of ONE SECOND, as a person who just avoided an accient.
€ To realize the value of ONE MILLISECOND, as the person who won a silver medal in the Olympics.

Treasure every moment tha you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time. And remember that time waits for no one.

YESTERDAY is history.TOMORROW is mystery. TODAY IS A GIFT !That is why it is called the PRESENT !

FRIENDS ARE VERY RARE JEWELS, INDEED. They make you smile and ecourage you to suceed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their heart to us ! Praise GOD !

PASS IT ON !

EVEN though I clutch my blanket and growl when the alarm rings, thank you , LORD, hat I can hear. There are many who are deaf. € € € EVEN though I keep my eyes closed against the morning light as long as possible, thank you, LORD, that I can see. Many are blind. € € €

EVEN though I huddle in my bed and put off rising, thank you, LORD, that I have the strength to rise. There are many who are bedridden. € € €

EVEN though the first hour of my day is hectic, when socks are lost, toast is burned and tempers are short, my children are so loud, thank you, LORD, for my family. There are many who are lonely. € € €

EVEN though our breakfast table never looks like the pictures in magazines and the menu is at times balanced, thank you, LORD, for the food we have. There are many who are hungry. € € €

EVEN though the routine of my job is often monotonous, thank you, LORD, for the opportunity to work . There are many who have no job. € € €

EVEN though I grumble and bemoan my fate from day to day and wish my circumstances were not so modest, thank you, LORD, for LIFE ! € € €

If we could pass this on to the people we know, it might help to make this a better place to live in.

WHY MOTHERS CRY € € €

Author Unknown

THE LITTLE BOY ASKED HIS MOM,
"WHY ARE YOU CRYING ?"
"BECAUSE I AM A MOTHER," SHE SAID.
"I DO NOT UNDERSTAND," HE REPLIED.
HIS MOM JUST HUGGED HIM AND SAID,
"YOU NEVER WILL !"

LATER THE LITTLE BOY ASKED HIS FATHER
WHY MOTHER SEEMED TO CRY FOR NO REASON.
"ALL MOTHERS CRY FOR NO REASON,"
WAS ALL HIS DAD COULD SAY.

THE LITTLE BOY GREW UP AND BECAME A MAN,
STILL WONDERING WHY MOTHERS CRY.
SO HE FINALLY PUT IN A CALL TO GOD
AND WHEN GOD GOT ON THE PHONE THE MAN SAID,
"GOD, WHY DO MOTHERS CRY SO EASILY ?"

GOD SAID, "YOU SEE SON,
WHEN I MADE MOTHERS THEY HAD TO BE SPECIAL.

I MADE THEIR SHOULDERS STRONG ENOUGH

TO CARRY THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD,

YET GENTLE ENOUGH TO GIVE COMFORT.

I GAVE THEM AN INNER STRENGTH

TO ENDURE CHILDBIRTH AND THE REJECTION

THAT MANY TIMES COMES FROM THEIR CHILDREN.

"I GAVE THEM A HARDINESS

THAT ALLOWS THEM TO KEEP GOING

WHEN EVERYONE ELSE GIVES UP,

AND TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR FAMILIES

THROUGH SICKNESS AND FATIGUE

WITHOUT COMPLAINING."

"I GAVE THEM THE SENSITIVITY TO LOVE THEIR CHILDREN

UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES,

EVEN WHEN THEIR CHILD HAS HURT THEM VERY BADLY.

THIS SAME SENSITIVITY HELPS THEM

TO MAKE A CHILD'S BOO-BOO FEEL BETTER

AND HELPS THEM SHARE

A TEENAGER'S ANXIETIES AND FEARS."

"I GAVE THEM A TEAR TO SHED.
IT IS THEIRS EXCLUSIVELY

~TO USE WHENEVER IT IS NEEDED.

IT IS A TEAR FOR MANKIND !"

NOT THE END of seniors !

Ά I would hope that all THE POPS PAGES here in the SENIORS PAGES and in the INTRO PAGE are of use and of course, especially SENIORS !

Keeping informed and thusly learning more to keep up-to-date with the rapidly ever-changing world of OURS only helps US to continue to be the always productive people at a level that we can handle in order to REMAIN functional !

To not do so, WE will not only be a burden to others, but ourselves as well !

WHO IS PACKING YOURS ?
Sometimes in the daily challenges that life gives us, we miss what is really important. We may fail to say hello, please or thank you, congrtuate some one on something wonderful that has happened to them, give a compliment or just do soething nice for no reason.

Charles Plumb, a US Naval Academy graduate, was a jet pilot in Vietnam. AFter 75 combat missions, his plane was destroyed by a surface-to-air missile.

Plumb ejected and parachuted into enemy hands. He was captured and spent six years in a communist Vietnamese prison. He survived the ordeal and now lectures on lessons he learned from that experience.

One day when he and his wife were sitting in a restaurent a man at another table came up and said, "You are Plumb ! You flew jet fighters i Vietna from the carrier Kitty Hawk. You were shot down !"

• "How in the world did you know that ? " asked Plumb.

† I packed your parchute," the man replied. Plumb gasped in surprise and gratitude. The man pumped his hand and said, " I guess it worked !"

• Plumb assurred him, "It sure did. If your chute had not worked, I wuld not be here today !"

† Plumb could not sleep that night, thinking about that man. Plumb says he kept wondering what he might had looked like in a Navy uniform: a white hat, a bib in the back, and bell bottom trousers

• He wondered how many times he might haveseen him and not even said good mornin how are you or anythings because, Plumb was a fighter pilot and he was just a sailor.

• Plumb thought of the many hours the sailor hd spent on a long wooden table in the bowels of the ship, carefully weavin the shrouds and folding the silks of eachchue, holding in his hands each time the fate of someone he did not know.

† Now Plumb asks his audiences, " Who is paking your parachute ?"

Everyone has someone who provides what they need to make it through the day !

Plumb also points out that he needed many kinds of parachutes when his plane was shot down over eneemy=territory - he needed his physical parachute, his mental parachute, his emotional parachute, and his SPIRITUAL parachute.

He called on all of these supports before reaching safety.

€ His experience reminds us to prepare ourselves to weather whatever hardships are ahead.
