Fun Links

KIDS STUFF

KIDiddles - The perfect way to round out your lyrical visit here, lots of lovely tunes for the kid in all of us. Includes over 300 songs as well as some MIDIs and great links, a well-done spot and worth a trip.

Lidwina's Disney Song Collection - Midi files and lyrics for more than 100 Disney songs. Great idea, enjoy!

MomsMiniVan.com - Loads of games and songs and ideas for that looooong family trip, "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?". Learn how to make a Cootie Catcher, find printable Car Bingo cards as well as the lyrics for many old-time faves.

Clarence's Animal Scoop - Part of the extensive and enjoyable Billy Bear's Playground this part highlights animals and how! Wallpaper, icons and screensavers from a vast array of beautiful animal pictures plus sounds, a great how-to for making animal stickers, games and tales from the webmasters' experiences taking care of squirrels and raccoons (more great pics). To put it mildly, if you or your child enjoy animals, bookmark this beauty.

Rexanne's Page for Parents - Great selection of links for parents and kids, you'll get pleasantly lost in here.

Newsweek's Parent's Guide to Children's Software - All kinds of reviews and help for the new wired generation. Updated daily, I believe, very helpful if your kid's plugged in.

Internet Magazine's Kids Sites - All recommended by Internet Magazine, short reviews of each site.

The Family Corner - Everyone in the family will find something useful or fun to do and read here at this well-done site packed with info. Includes a great Discussions area where you can sign up for various email lists or join in the chit-chat on the message boards.

Star Child - Excellent site for the young astronomer in your family, from NASA, so they know what they're talking about! Kid-friendly graphics, easy to use design and packed with info and activities.

The NIEHS Kids' Pages - Loads of activities, brain-teasers, games, sing-along songs, jokes, and links from the National Institutes of Health. Quite a bit is geared towards older kids, but the young'uns can find some fun here as well.

Kids pages - Vanuatu - Well worth a visit, this is part of the Vanuatu site, official site for one of those beautiful South Pacific islands. The volcano page alone is worth a click, stunning images!

Nikolai.Com - Wow! If your kids can't find something to enjoy here then you're just not looking. Oodles of activites including a nice set of online books to read or create your own. My only complaint is that with the frame set-up, the main area is rather squished together on my monitor and loses some of its appeal. But then, I can't stand frames period!

Scholastic News Online - Great companion piece to the paper version, covers grades 3-6.

Dr. Paula - A real, live pediatrician answers all your questions and offers many helpful tips and links. No relation to Dr. Laura ;-)

Jon Cooke's Home Page - Lots of terrific cartoon pages and links, something's sure to tickle your fancy.

Canadian Parents Online - I'm sure they're not checking passports here but the discussion boards are aimed towards my fellow Canucks. Mucho other activities and helpful articles to enjoy, the site is constantly updated and well-worth a bookmark.

Ontario Science Centre - Very helpful guide if you're interested in visiting this fun and educational tourist attraction here in Ontario. The site also includes many online activities for use with or without Shockwave (an option I wish more sites would offer).

The Berenstain Bears Official Homepage - If you must worship other characters, then you might as well enjoy some of the best. Lots of activities for the kids and reading to enjoy.

Children's Express - What a great idea! As it says on the page, "CE is a news service produced by kids reporting on the issues that affect their lives" and it's about time huh? If you want to know what kids are thinking about, then go right to the source.

CyberKids Home - "CyberKids is a place for kids' creativity to flourish while getting feedback from others; a space to read stories, to listen to kids' musical compositions, to view artwork, to meet keypals from all over." Lots of terrific stuff for your kids to wander through.

CyberTeens - From the success of Cyberkids grew CyberTeens. Still fun, with games and links, but also a great outlet for teen angst, with answers instead of more questions.

WWW 4KIDZ - For the kids and the parents that want to get the best out of the Net. Kids can even make their own comic book, get help with homework and win prizes. Good tips on safe surfing as well.

Watched It! Classic Kids TV - This site originates from England, I believe, so many of these shows may not be familiar to North Americans, but it's jammed with goodies. Includes links to classics such as "The Magic Roundabout" and "Basil Brush", two of my personal faves and a fab Sound Room.

The Magic Roundabout - Seeing as the previous site seems to have dropped this great childhood memory from their list here's a nice site for the show with pics and memories of Dougal, Florence, Brian, Ermitrude, the whole darn gang. Also try this Links Page for the theme song and other goodies. And check out Beebfun for a gorgeous looking desktop theme.

This Old Toy - What a great trip down memory lane this is! Lots of old Fisher Price toys to drool over and buy (coming soon). Dust off your treasures and enjoy. And don't miss this page, the Original Little People Sesame Street & McDonald's Identification List.

Fun Kid Links - Another fab set of links, and I love the background myself. All fully described for you to sort through.

Stay Alert ... Stay Safe - For all the parents out there, here is a terrific site devoted to your kids' safety, whether it be on the net or on the street. For the kids, they have a good collection of tips and games to play that will hammer in the message without them even realizing it. Tons of stuff to explore and read. Please have a look, our kids are our most important resource.

Daycare Provider's Home Page - A treasure trove of links and info, including activity cards with great songs and crafts etc. to use with your own child (or student). Very helpful.

HandiLinks - Now here's an interesting way to surf, learn American Sign Language as you click from subject to subject. Lots of great links and even software to help you learn sign language on your computer. Well done.

Mom and Pop Get Wired - A different article or poem to read every month, a bulletin board chat area, as well as a look at what you need to know from the newsgroups. Got something on your mind? Then send it in and share with other parents.

Aaron's Mixture Of Things - Tons of stuff to surf through here, all geared towards kids and parents (Aaron's a kid and his dad helps with the page). Includes kidsites of the week, cartoons and lots of links.

FAO Schwarz - Well, I may not be able to afford all the goodies here, but gosh they're nice to look at! Lots of stuff to amuse yourself with from the world's biggest toy store (I guess). Includes images and prices as well as ordering options.

FRIENDS OF THE ARCHIVES

Rabid Squirrel's Jazz Archive - I never realized squirrels could be so funky ... especially rabid ones! Lyrics and links for a ton of the oldies but goodies here, well worth a visit.

Children's Music Singer / Songwriter Jack Will - A fun site from a fun guy! Includes original lyrics for his kids songs (go on, buy the tape and sing along), a concert schedule, and even has original midi files to download. Well worth a trip.

Erik's Chopsticks Gallery - You find the most interesting people when you run a website like mine, here's a perfect example. Terrific collection of chopsticks ... yes, chopsticks. And you have no idea how beautiful some of them can be 'till you have a peek, just lovely. And some of the chopstick rests (which I didn't even know existed!) are gloriously kitchy. Great site for a pick-me-up ;-)

Gallery Of The Absurd - Same webmaster as the above link, can't help but add this seperate link so you don't miss it. Nice collection of images of the absurb life we live in.

Jeannie's Stuff - Jeannie's done a great job presenting her Stuff. A nice collection of entertaining links for sports and lyrics as well as generally cool stuff.

Cathy's Link-O-Rama - Winner of the "WebTV Users Choice Award", Cathy will gladly link you just about anywhere your heart desires.

Memebird's Homepage - Links for daycare related topics and fun stuff, as well as a Family Activity to enjoy

Welcome To Our Place - A very proud mom, as she should be. Includes some fun links and a copy of her resume, have a peek.
