Tony Alva on a borrowed 9' board and no leash at Seven Mile Point
in Tasmania -
This was Tony's first ride after hopping in ... he is on his way
to the beach another 600 yards down the point !!!
T.Alva has always been a legend to me, ever since the 70's he has
influenced my skating a lot. At 40+ he is still ripping and it was
good to see that he could surf as well as he skates !
It was great to hang with him for the week and just chat, have a
surf and go skating. Tasmania is a place which isn't blessed with any
skate tours (apart from about one a year) so imagine what the locals
thought when T.Alva just kept popping up for a skate.
What really impressed me was his attitude to life in general and
the values he has. Tony has done more than just about anyone for
skating and continues to do so today !
You'll find a link to Tony's tribute page and then to his board
page in the Links section !
