Overclocking
Important! only undergo this procedure if you know exactly what you are doing!
A quick note on overclocking Pentium 1's in general: Not all Pentium 1's overclock as well as others, the processor
origanly in my machine was a 75mhz sx969 and i managed to get it too 100mhz (120mhz with better cooling) although some might
only manage a small overclock e.g. 75mhz to 90mhz.
Warning!!! Pentium 1's have different voltage ratings! the processor
in mine was 3.3 volts although higher end pentiums may have lower voltages e.g 3.1 or 2.9 volts. DO NOT, DO NOT put a lower
voltage chip into a higher voltage socket!!! you may well destroy the mother and processor! If you are overclocking, don't
adjust the cpu power settings!
1. Dismantle the machine so that you get to the cpu settings dip switch (see disassembly guide).
2. Set you dip swiches to the processor speed you want to overclock your cpu to.
3. Reassemble your laptop
(I wouldn't put the keyboard screws back in yet)
4. Test you overclock (run some intensive stuff, cpu test software
etc etc), watch the cpu temp constantly!
5. If all is well reassemble you laptop completely, if not try a lower setting
and redo steps 2,3 and 4.
6. Done!
