Hi! Welcome to Transformers: The Role=Playing Game. This page is to give you a little history so you don't join the game ignorant and guns blazing.

I. What are "Transformers?"

Transformers are a race of living, sentinent Robotic life forms that can assume other shapes, such as cars, planes and even cities and animals. They come from the planet Cybertron where silcon based life evolved, instead of organic. There are many races of Transformers, and you have the option of playing one of SIX!

II. What are the Races?"

There are six races: Autobots, Decepticon, Destrons, Junkions, Mercbots and the Cybertronian Empire. Read below for more informations.

IIA. Autobots
Autobots are "The Good guys." Noble, compassionate and honourable, they seek a peaceful meditative existence. However, since the Evil Decepticons are hell-bent of conquering the Universe and draining it of all it's energy and natural resources, the Autobot have begurdgingly taking up violence to stop them. Autobots prefer diplomatic solutions, and use violence only as a last resort.

CLAN STRENGTH: All Autobot characters gain the free Skill (See character making for more on skills: BRAVADO. This means if an Autobot fails his courage roll in battle, he may re-roll it ONCE and ONLY ONCE a battle to see if he overcomes his fear of being destroyed.

CLAN WEAKNESS: All Autobots MUST take the weakness: Compassionate. This means that if the Decepticons try to retreat, you must LET them unless they have a piece of stolen equipment or have kidnapped an ally of innocent lifeform. As well, if another innocent life form is being threatened by the Decepticons or any other evil force, the Autobots MUST attempt to help the victims...no matter the cost!

IIb. Decepticons
Decepticons are a warlike race of transformers, greedy for power of other life forms and the Universe itself. They are trecherous, deceitful, and all around bad guys. They wish nothing more than the utter destruction of the Autobot race. Decepticons will keep their word only if it benefits them.

CLAN STRENGTH: All Decpeticons gain the skill: Flight in robot form. This was once unique to Decepticons and still is very rare in other races, including their descendants, the Cybertronian Empire.

CLAN WEAKNESS: All Decepticons have the weakness: BULLY. Decpeticons are only brave in groups. As such, if a Decepticon with a higher rank flees in Combat for any reason, all Decepticons with a lower rank must retreat from battle as well. Bullies also taunt their victims. Only if necessary do Decepticons kill outright. They normally place their captured victims in fiendish deathtraps meant to torture one to death. Typical evil villian stuff.

IIc. Destrons.
Destrons are the warriors of the Quintessons. The Quintessons were the race of beings that Created the Transformers for slave labor and to sell to other planets in need of labor. The Transformers rebelled and sent the QUintessons fromt heir own planet. The Quintessons are ever scheming to regain Cybertron and to exterminate BOTH Autobots and Decepticons. Unlike the Autobots and Decepticons, the Destrons are loyal to their creators the Quintessons and seek to help them in their goal. Destron ranks are mostly made up of Sharkticons (Cybernetic robot sharks) and Alligatacons (Robotic Alligators.) However, Quintessons have been experiementing with creating smarter troops with a myriad of forms to combat other Transformers.

CLAN STRENGTH: All Destrons gain the skill: Sharkticon Bodyguard. Each Destron player gains a transformer sidekick who exists only to protect them. WARNING: Sharkticons are Strong but DUMB.

CLAN WEAKNESS: All Destrons have the clan Weakness: BOUND TO QUINTESSONS. This means no Destron can disobey a Quintesson order. If a Quintesson gives a command that a Destron character wishes to disobey, that character recieves aninternal systems shock equivlant to FIREPOWER 8 (see combat). This can potentially kill a Destron.

IId. Junkions
Junkions are a form of Transformer that evolved after millenium of living on "THE PLANET OF JUNK." They are odd looking, appearing to be made out of spare parts and are considered insane by those that are newly introduced to the Species. They are on friendly terms with the autobots, and neutral with Decepticons. Junkions are peace-loving by nature and generally good guys.

CLAN STRENGTH: All Junkions gain the clan strength: REGENERATION. Junkions regenerate one endurance point a round. This makes them near impossible to kill. Regeneration stops if at any time a Junkion is brought down to 0 or meets Critical death requirments (See combat rules.)

CLAN WEAKNESS: All Junkions take the weakness: TALK TV. Junkion's language is based on commercials and Tv shows from old Earth Broadcasts. When speaking, they MUST make a seemingly nonsensical sentence comprised of "TV TALK." All non-Junkions must make an Intelligence roll to understand them.

IIe. The Cybertronian Empire.

This is the only race NOT created by Quintessons. They are descendants/offshoots of the Decepticons and are rumored to serve the Dark Lord, Unicron, while others say their leader is named THE LIEGE MAXIMO. Regardless, this race is much darker and crueler than their Ancestors. The CE believes in organic Genocide. They go from planet to planet wiping out all non-robotic life and then transforming the once thriving planet into a Robotic world fit for the EMPIRE. They appear to be emotionless and logical, and actually believe they are "Good guys." The CE is able to justify all their actions and beliefs.

CLAN STRENGTH: All members of the Cybertronian Empire gain the skillL: Strategists. The CE are ruthless and have spent many years exterminating other life forms. Thus they are very good at planning and making war. In battle, all Members of the Cybertronian Empire get to declare their attacks LAST, regardless of speed requirments (See combat for more explination.) Order of combat still happens naturally.

CLAN WEAKNESS: Although members of the CE APPEAR to be cold and logical, they all secretly hold in a berzerker rage, that is still unexplained, even to themselves. IF a member of the CE drops to HALF (round up) their hit points, they must make a courage roll. If they fail, they retreat. If the SUCEED, they enter the rage. Under this pychotic state, they attack ANYTHING...including their own kind. They gain TWO attacks per round, but lose the ability to use guns (They prefer to beat their opponents to death) and their SKILL is halved. As well, any attempt to make an intelligence roll, automatically fails.

IIf. Mercbots.

Mercbots are sentient, but retain part of their original programming from the Quintessons. Where Autobots and Decepticons developed a code of morals and ethics, Mercbots retain the fact they were created to be sold to the highest bidder. Thus they are more than willing to fight on either side, if the price is right. A new faction that has been discovered. Little is truly known about these shadowy automatons.

Clan Strength: Mercbots have NO clan strength

Clan Weakness: Mercbots have NO clan weakness.
