Mortal LifeLo! as the wind is, so is mortal life: A moan, a sigh, a sob, a storm, a strife ~ DhammapadaIshi spent his mortal life as Jung Dezhan in a small southwestern providence of China. He lived on a small farm with his parents. He was orphaned at a young age when his parents were attacked by chih-mai. Frightened, Dezhan stayed huddled alone in his house for a few months living off what little food his parents have stockpiled. One day he heard a group of people walk by. They were monks from the near by Buddhist temple. He ventured out and waved them down. They listened to Dezhan's story and took him in. Dezhan was raise to deny his flesh-based passions and to hide them away. He spent many hours in meditation and contemplation. Dezhan grew to a wonderful caring young man. Dezhan was on a missionary trip to Cambodia when he was captured and placed in a Khmer Rouge "detention center." He spent most of his time in meditation, chanting prayers looking for guidance out of the situation he now found himself in. His "wonderful hosts", tired of this unrelenting chanting and ritual, decided to silence Dezhan once and for all. They dragged him from his cell to a tree where a fire had been laid out in a alter mocking his spiritual customs. They tied him by the hands from the tree facing the fire. Starting at his neck, they made a series of cuts and then proceeded to slowly skin him in short 1 inch by 6 inch strips. As each painful strip was removed, the captors bathed the new raw wound in rice vinegar and rubbed in ash from the fire. Dezhan screamed at this torture which lasted most of the night. As this cruel scene played out Dezhan's demon was awakened in him and howled in revenge near the end. Bleeding and skinned over his torso, arms, and legs, the captors decided to add insult to his injuries and sodomized him with their assault rifles. Barely alive, Dezhan vowed to avenge his treatment as his inner-demon screamed for the blood of the captors. Tired of this game, they slit his throat and gave Dezhan what he thought was release. Yomi WorldIshi does not remember much of his time in the Yomi World. He does remember some. He remembers that as he entered it somewhere in the beginning... a flood of passions and baser emotions and urges filled him. All the desires, and passions he denied himself while alive have come due in the great bank of karma. His P'o was captured for time. He does not remember much of what his P'o went through, but he does remember it was punished for not coming to the front sooner and aiding Dezhan. The demon forced Ishi's P'o to remember that life is to be lived, that mortals do have their place and that caring for others is important. Driven by revenge, the P'o escaped this demon and the whole yomi world. Guided by Ishi's Hun, the P'o join the Hun and the lost parts of Dezhan's body became whole. The former Dezhan clawed it's way out of the deep murky bog that his body was unceremoniously dumped in.
Second Breath
Ishi was suffering from heartache. Alundra, his mother, is no longer in the family. This news Ishi could not live with. Ishi was wrought with grief and suffering. He was uncharacteristically angry at everyone. He was in a lot of pain. Ishi took some time off to meditate and focus himself on what is right. Ishi set off for a personal pilgrimage. He returned to the land known as Cambodia. He visited the burial site (if you can call if that) of Jung Dezhan. The bog was still deep in the jungle. Ishi rounded up a few chih-mai in the area and chained them to the site as watch dogs. Ishi sacrificed a small jade dragon amulet and performed the "Trace the Dragon's Blood" Rite and found a Yang Dragon Track near by. This pleased Ishi. For with it, he can visit his gravesite often now and protect it. Ishi roamed the country, visiting various prisons, many still with large number of Khmer Rouge prisoners. The treatment he had received as Dezhan had forever scarred Ishi. Ishi feed unremorsefully on these prisoners. Ishi traveled then to China. Visiting the village where Dezhan grew up. He stopped into the monastery where he was once a ward and paid homage to his mother and father and to the monks who took him in. Ishi sought guidance from the same sect of monks. Ishi then traveled back to Japan
and to the Kurai Kastle to visit with his Father, the Daimyo Hayate and
his father's new bride, Fujin Hoshi. Finally, Ishi returned to his library
in the United States. Some Ishi FactsIshi is a son of Daimyo
Hayate and Fujin Alundra.
Ishi loves his Family, although lately, he feels alone. Ishi is Ishi. Maybe he loves his tequila too much. Maybe he loves life and all that makes life worth living. Maybe he is very opinionated. But Ishi loves His Family. Demeanor:
